Chapter 51
Leeanne posted a group photo taken when the four of them first landed on the island.
The picture she picked was pretty slick, just two blurry figures from behind. People could barely tell they were a guy and a girl.
But the timestamp on the photo was crystal clear. It was Day 7 of the Sea Calendar, 9:15 AM.
Myron had been running his mouth for ages, and since a bunch of people were already glued to the Local Chat and following Leeanne, they all rushed to check out the photo. The chat screen instantly blew up.
A person wrote: [Wow, Leeanne was already on the island by 9:15 AM. That’s perfect timing, didn’t waste a single minute, maxed out her exploration time.]
Another wrote: [No wonder she’s been so quiet. Girl’s been busy exploring instead!]
Someone else wrote: [Unlike some people who haven’t even set foot on the island yet, but are already making a scene like the whole world needs to know.]
A person wrote: [They were talking smack about her, and now they’re getting owned.]
Another wrote: [That’s gotta sting!]
Myron was fuming. He’d barely had two minutes to bask in his own glory before Leeanne slapped him right in the face.
He never expected Leeanne to get to the island so early, and Rodger was clearly there with her.
The chat screen was roasting him, and Myron, both embarrassed and pissed off, blurted out: [So what if she landed a few minutes earlier? What’s she showing off for?]
Emmett was the first to call him out. [Whoa, who’s this salty guy?]
When everyone saw what Myron said, the chat got even crazier.
A person wrote: [Myron, you haven’t even made it to the island and you’ve been spamming the chat for ages, trying to pick a fight with Leeanne. She just posted a photo to respond to you. How is that showing off?]
Another wrote: [He got called out and now he’s just mad and embarrassed.]
Someone else wrote: [Never seen anyone this disgusting. Yeah, I’m talking about you, Myron!]
Another wrote: [Myron, can you just stop talking? You’re living like a joke. I’m embarrassed for you!]
The chat screen was full of people tearing into Myron.
Myron, burning with shame and anger, just stuffed his gear together without a word and finally dragged himself onto the island, stone–faced.
Meanwhile, Leeanne had already tuned out the drama. She’d spotted a rabbit slowly emerging from the grass. its little red nose twitching as it sniffed here and there.
This rabbit was much bigger and plumper than the last one, and looked pretty clumsy,
It was super cautious, taking a few steps, sniffing around, then a few more steps, sniffing again, and finally turning its head to
scan the area.

Leeanne stayed perfectly still, her eyes locked on the rabbit.

Finally, the rabbit edged up to the trap, its nose twitching. Then, in a flash, it hopped straight for the strawberry sitting on top.
With a thud, it fell right in.
Leeanne thought, ‘Got it!
Leeanne immediately dashed out from behind the rock, pushed aside the dead branches and dry grass, and spotted the panicked rabbit scrambling to climb up.
But the pit was just too deep, it couldn’t manage to get out.
Lecanne reached in and picked it up with ease.
This rabbit was heavy. It had to be at least twenty pounds. Its belly was big and round. When Leeanne felt its stomach, it squirmed and let out a few anxious squeaks.
Leeanne thought to herself, ‘Is it pregnant?”
Leeanne was thrilled. She’d raised rabbits as a kid, so she could instantly tell this one was pregnant, and it looked like she was about to pop.
Great, one rabbit is enough, Leeanne thought to herself.
Since the rabbit was pregnant, Leeanne didn’t want to take any chances. She grabbed some bamboo poles and quickly wove together a cage, a bit smaller than the last one.
She placed the big rabbit inside and tossed in another strawberry, which finally helped the rabbit calm down a bit.
She couldn’t lug this cage around, so Leeanne headed back to the spot where she’d left the chicken cage.
After thinking it over, she climbed up a big tree, set both cages on a sturdy branch, and covered them up with leaves.
Up in the tree, they should be safe from any wild animals.
Leeanne double–checked to make sure there were no snakes nearby, and only then did she finally feel at ease and head off.
After walking for about ten minutes, she came across a rocky hill.
The hill was strewn with rocks, with sparse clusters of pine trees dotting the landscape.
On this island, wood was gold. Leeanne hefted her iron axe and went to work, whack–whack, taking down more than ten pine trees in no time.
She spotted a thick pine tree up ahead and was about to swing her iron axe again, when suddenly a notification popped.
[Angelica Herb found!]
[Angelica Herb: Tier 1 herb, one of the main ingredients for crafting healing salve.]
Leeanne took a closer look and noticed a small clump growing right near the roots of the old pine.
It was a cluster of brown, oval–shaped fungi. That was definitely Angelica Herb.

Ever since she learned basic herbalism, this info would just pop into her mind whenever she spotted something new.
Angelica Herb was one of the main ingredients for making a healing salve. Emmett and his crew had spent hours searching an island and only managed to find a couple.
That just showed how rare it was
Leeanne walked over, picked up the Angelica Herb, and shipped it into her backpack
According to what she’d learned in basic herbalism, Angelica Herb always grew under pine trees. She needed to search around
This time, while chopping wood, she kept an eye on the ground around the pine trees. It didn’t take long before she’d found five more Angelica Herbs
As she hunted for Angelica Herbs, she kept chopping down pine trees, steadily making her way up to the hilltop.
At the summit, surrounded by massive boulders, there stood a colossal ancient pine, its gnarled trunk twisting and jutting out at a crooked angle.
Nestled at its roots was a golden–brown plant, looking just like Angelica Herb
[Scarlet Gold Angelica Herb discovered‘]
[Scarlet Gold Angelica Herb: Tier 2 mutated herb. Can be used to craft the Resurrection Pill, restores flesh and bone, brings the dead back to life!]
Seriously? That’s insane, Leeanne thought to herself.
Deep down, she knew this was definitely a jackpot.
Tier 2 and mutated? That’s gotta be a whole level and a half above regular Angelica Herb, she thought.
Leeanne edged forward, staying on high alert and scanning her surroundings for any signs of danger.
Finally, she climbed onto the highest rock. Only from there could she reach the Scarlet Gold Angelica Herb
Standing atop the rock, Leeanne suddenly realized there was a steep cliff just below her. It was maybe seventy or eighty feet down, but a fall from that height would definitely be fatal.
She spotted a few tufts of grass swaying in the wind, growing out from cracks in the cliff face.
Leeanne calmed her nerves and scanned the area for anything out of the ordinary.
Only when she was sure nothing was amiss did she let herself relax. Moving slowly, she crouched down, ready to reach for the Scarlet Gold Angelica Herb.
Just as she was about to reach out, a gust of wind swept by, and she caught a faint, metallic, bloody scent in the air.
Shit? Leeanne thought, her nerves instantly on edge.
Leeanne stayed calm, backing away little by little. Her fingers moved almost imperceptibly as she slipped her hand into her backpack and quietly drew out a dagger, holding it ready.
She held her breath, reaching out slowly, barely daring to move.
