The Double Drop Buff Surviving The Endless Ocean novel Chapter 70

Danelle: [It’s already 10:30 PM. Leeanne’s in first place now, just need to hold on for a bit over an hour, and she’ll be set]

Rodger: [Awesome!]

Danelle: [Night’s End was so tough to beat. Leeanne spent half an hour climbing from second to first, but she finally knocked him down!]

Rodger: [Don’t get too greedy. The top ten are usually pretty stable. Leeanne’s already moving fast.]

Robin had been keeping a close eye on his ranking. He’d worked his ass off to get to first place.

Leeanne’s work, 666888, had been shooting up the charts, grabbing everyone’s attention. Robin had noticed it a while ago.

He’d always been confident that even if Leeanne made it into the top ten, she wouldn’t be able to beat him. But to his surprise, she quickly climbed to second place, and after a fierce battle, she knocked him down.

Robin’s face darkened.

This work, Gathering by Stove, was recommended by Alina. He felt that maybe Alina really know this participant.

Robin sent a private message to Alina: [Who’s the author of Gathering by Stove?]

Alina had definitely noticed Leeanne’s work shooting up the charts. She’d been grinding nonstop, and seeing Leeanne knock Robin down a peg made her absolutely thrilled.

She replied: [Someone who’s ten thousand times better than you!]

Robin’s face grew even colder. He knew he wouldn’t get any useful information from Alina.

No matter what, he had to get first place,

The top prize was five plots of Top land, each one could make plants grow ten times faster. With all five, he wouldn’t just handle his own food supply. He could easily support a whole squad.

The rewards for second place and below were barely worth mentioning.

First place was his for the taking. He would not let anyone else take it.

But there was only an hour and a half left before the voting ended.

If push came to shove, he’d have to go all out and unleash his big move.

He rummaged through his inventory and pulled out a special item, a Global Chat Card

[Global Chat Card: Lets you start a private chat with someone from another district. Once you open it, you have to use right then and there. One shot only, 10 minutes max. |

He’d scored this item from a loot box when he first landed on the island. Ever since, he’d been wracking his brain trying to figure out how to squeeze the most value out of it.

To be honest, this card wasn’t exactly convenient to use.

He had no idea which district anyone else was in, and once he popped the card, he had to act fast. If he couldn’t connect with someone, he’d blow his only shot.

But now, with the Quality of Life Contest underway and everyone’s district and name out in the open, it was the perfect opportunity to use the card.

When he signed up for the Quality of Life Contest, he’d kept his district and name under wraps for two reasons. First, to stay lowkey. Second, he was planning to pull off a move with the Global Chat Card.

Now, the timing was just right to finally put his original plan into action.

Lost in thought, Robin pulled up Leeanne’s work and scanned through her comments section.

He was hoping to spot which district the author of Gathering by Stove was in.

But after checking for ages, nobody let slip a thing.

Leeanne’s comment section was packed, and one thread kept sticking to the second spot, with a massive flame war going on for pages. The main poster went by the name I am Myron.”

Wait, is this guy actually talking himself up?Robin thought, a bit surprised.

While he was flaming other players, he let slip that he was from District 33.

District 33? Myron? Could it be Myron Garcia?Robin wondered, suspicion rising.

Robin, the Spangler family, the Garcia family, and a bunch of others all lived in Everinn. Robin had heard of Myron before and had a pretty good idea of what kind of guy he was.

His face lit up with excitement as he scrolled down to the 199th spot and checked out the details.

Work ID: 5443. Work Title: A Good Life. Contestant: Myron Garcia. District: 33.

Robin thought, If I’m right, I am Myronmust be Myron Garcia.

What a coincidence.

Robin pulled out the card and tapped it without hesitation.

[Do you want to use the Global Chat Card?]

Yes!he answered instantly.

[Chat Card activated! You can now start a private chat with a player from another district. Time limit: 10 minutes. Please select your chat partner.]

Robin tapped on Myron from district 33.

Myron was getting annoyed as he stared at Leeanne’s work, 666888. He couldn’t even explain why Something about it just rubbed him the wrong way.

Suddenly, a private message popped up. (Player Robin Shillingford from district 34 has used a Global Chai Card and wants to start a private chat with you. Do you accept?]

Robin Shillingford? Who’s that? Myron thought.

Myron froze for a moment. The name sounded familiar, but he couldn’t quite place it.

But anyone with an item like this had to be someone important, so Myron agreed without hesitation.

Robin: [Hi, this is Robin Shillingford. I’m the author of Night’s End]

Robin was pretty annoyed about having to reveal himself, but with the Global Chat Card, his info was already out there. No way to keep a low profile now, he thought.

Myron quickly put two and two together.

Night’s End? Wasn’t that the one that used to be number one? Guess it’s been bumped down to second now, Myron thought to himself.

Myron instantly perked up.

He already looked up to the author of Night’s End like a hero. That was the kind of life he wished he could have, and honestly, in his eyes, Night’s End totally beat Gathering by stove.

But is this guy for real?Myron wondered, a bit skeptical.

Robin quickly put his doubts to rest. [Here’s my proof!]

He pulled up his contestant page, and there, plain as day, were all the details he’d been keeping hidden.

Now Myron was convinced.

Myron asked: [I’m Myron Garcia from district 33. Is there something I can do for you, sir?]

After seeing Robin’s strength on display, Myron instinctively put himself in a more humble position.
