Leeanne had a few small cuts on her wrist. She didn’t bother worrying about saving the healing salve anymore. She just slathered it on, and her wounds closed up in no time.

She popped a few strawberries into her mouth, and felt her energy bounce right back.

It was her nerves that needed settling the most

After all, this was her first kill.

Leeanne quickly pulled herself together and started checking out the loot she’d just scored.

Wilmot’s weapon was a flail. Leeanne picked it up, gave it a few test swings, but it was way too heavy for her, so she set it aside.

There was also a bronze ring. It actually boosted her agility by two points. No wonder he was so quick on his feet,’ Leeanne thought.

She slipped the ring onto her thumb and was pleasantly surprised to find a groove on the underside. It was a thumb ring for archery, designed to protect her fingers.

Leeanne thought, Perfect timing. I really needed this.

All that hard work taking down Wilmot finally paid off!’

With the ring on, she turned her attention to the rest of the loot.

There were also binoculars. She pulled it out and scanned the surroundings.

This binoculars was pretty impressive, she could spot things from really far away. Leeanne thought it would be perfect for keeping an eye on the Garcia brothers.

Leeanne pulled up the Local Chat and shrank the screen, tucking it into the top left corner so it wouldn’t block her view,

The Garcia brothers loved spamming the chat, so she could always keep tabs on what they were up to.

Sure enough, Myron was already running his mouth again. [Leeanne, you can’t escape. I’ve found you. Just wait!]

Mick: [Bro, let me summon you. I’m closer to her!]

Myron: [Hurry up!]

Leeanne glanced at her coordinates. She thought, Looks like this is Myron’s second time using a tracking card.

Each tracking card only has five uses

Suddenly, someone named Derick Tillery chimed in on the chat. [Myron, summon me. Let’s avenge Wilmot together!]

As soon as Derick spoke up, the chat blew up with gasps.

A person wrote: [Whoa, is that Derick, the notorious serial killer?]

Another wrote: [Yeah, he killed eight people back to back not long ago. I heard he kills people every year. Damn, he’s here too! Leeanne’s in real trouble now.]

Someone wrote: [That guy’s brutal and crazy strong, even trained soldiers couldn’t handle him!]

Someone else wrote: [Leeanne, run!]

Leeanne swept the district with her binoculars, but didn’t spot a soul.

She took a moment to mull things over.

She thought, Three of them are on their way. Myron and Mick are both tough, and Derick’s a monster in a fight. No way I’m taking them headon.

Myron still has three uses left on his tracking card.

Can’t fight them headon, so I’ll just have to play it smart and drag this out.

Leeanne made her decision right away.

She got up and ran straight toward a small hill to the south.

It was a rocky hill with only a few trees, but that was just the kind of spot Leeanne was looking for, not somewhere to hide, but somewhere she could use to her advantage.

She kept moving at a brisk pace, and after half an hour or so, she finally reached the top.

At the top of the hill, Leeanne pulled out her binoculars. While catching her breath, she kept an eye on everything around her.

There was still no sign of Myron and his crew anywhere.

After hustling for over half an hour, Leeanne was pretty wiped out. She grabbed a few strawberries, popped them into her mouth, then took out a cherry and took a big bite out of it.

Just a few bites later, she felt totally refreshed, even the soreness in her legs disappeared.

She felt totally refreshed, like she’d just had a full night’s sleep.

Nice, these cherries really pack a punch. Even if they don’t add any stats, they still restore my stamina, Leeanne thought.

Leeanne had only eaten half the cherry, but when she saw her stamina was back to normal, she was about to put the rest

away.

I want some!the redbilled blue magpie squawked, flapping over from a distance.

Where have you been?Leeanne said, her irritation spiking as soon as she saw it.

It had taken off the moment they arrived on the island and vanished for two whole hours, not caring about her at all.

Seriously, this magpie is way too wild, Leeanne thought.

The redbilled blue magpie just played dumb, acting like it had no clue what she was talking about.

Leeanne let out a huff and shoved the halfeaten cherry back into her backpack.

Seeing the cherry disappear, redbilled blue magpie got anxious and started frantically circling Leeanne. Tm sorry!

Leeanne was at a loss for words.

She thought, This heartless little bird.

Quick to admit it’s wrong, but only because it wants that mysterious cherry.

At least this little guy’s got good taste.’

Leeanne gestured around. Go patrol the area and see if you spot three people nearby. If you do, fly back and tell me. Help me handle those three, and you’ll get a taste of the cherry!

On it!Little Blue chirped and zipped away.

Leeanne reached for her binoculars again.

A few minutes later, Little Blue swooped back, pointed north, the way Leeanne had come from, and squawked, Three idiots are coming from that way!

Leeanne grabbed her binoculars right away. After another two minutes, she spotted three figures in the distance.

If my guess is right, that’s probably Myron and his crew,’ Leeanne thought.

As they got a bit closer, she saw Myron stop, pull out something, tap it a few times, then glance her way and flash a nasty grin.

She glanced at the Local Chat. Myron wrote: [Leeanne, you’re done for!]

Leeanne thought, Looks like Myron just used his tracking card again.

Now he’s only got two uses left!

Leeanne watched as Myron and his crew suddenly sped up, coming at her fast.

Time to make my move!she thought.

She put down her binoculars and told Little Blue, Keep an eye on them!

Then she leapt down the hill and bolted south.

She had the binoculars, so she could see exactly where Myron was, but he didn’t have one. He was totally clueless about which way Leeanne had taken off.

Leeanne kept sprinting, and saw Myron raging in the chat. [Come on, Leeanne. Quit running!]

Mick: [Leeanne, you’re not getting away!]

Leeanne snorted and kept up her pace for another half hour. When she finally hit a flat plain, she slipped behind a big rock and plopped down to rest.

While she was at it, she took out the leftover half of the cherry and ate it
