“Little Blue, go keep an eye on them. Let me know when they’re getting close.” Leeanne instructed the red–billed blue magpie.

The poor bird had been flitting around with Leeanne, then circling back again and again to keep tabs on Myron and the others. After all that hustling, it was completely exhausted.

And to make things worse, every time Leeanne ate a cherry, she never shared any with it. Little Blue was eyeing those cherries hungrily, practically dying for a taste.

Right then, it started slowing down, acting like it was about to go on strike.

Leeanne shot it a sideways glance. “Are you going or not? If you don’t, no more cherries for you!”

“Alright, alright, I’m going.” The red–billed blue magpie reluctantly flew off.

Leeanne leaned against a rock and rested for a bit.

This time, she didn’t eat a cherry to restore her energy. She figured Myron and the others wouldn’t catch up so quickly.

Back when Myron had the Locating Card, she’d been heading south. But now that he didn’t have it anymore, she switched directions and started heading west.

‘Due to inertia, Myron would probably still keep chasing southward,’ Leeanne thought. ‘After chasing for a long while without success, he would then start searching around.

By the time they manage to find their way here, it’s estimated to be at least an hour later.

Sure enough, Myron was getting frustrated. “Leeanne, if you’re brave enough, stop running!”

Leeanne, still resting, couldn’t help but tease them. “Seriously, you guys are hopeless. After all this time, you still can’t catch

me?”

Myron, panting, snapped, “Just you wait!”

Leeanne replied, “I’m bored waiting for you guys. If you don’t hurry up, I’m leaving.”

Myron asked furiously, “Where are you?”

Leeanne snickered. “Loser, come and find me if you can.”

She smacked her forehead. ‘What’s going on? Why do I keep calling Myron a loser? Did I catch it from the red–billed blue magpie or something?”

Emmett burst out laughing “Myron, you guys are hopeless. Three of you have been chasing her for two or three hours and still haven’t even seen a trace of her. Oh, how embarrassing!”

Danelle chimed in, “Seriously, you guys are so embarrassing!”

Emmett laughed, “Hey, I spot Myron over there. You guys are actually taking a break? What did Leeanne scare you uth East your nerve to chase her?”

Leeanne jeered, “Myron, you guys chickening out or what?‘

Myron, holding back his anger, shot back, “Who says we’re scared! Just wait, Leeannel”

Chapter 80

Leeanne, getting impatient, said, “Be quick!”

Myron was about to explode. He yanked Mick up. “Move it! No more breaks. If we don’t hurry, Leeanne’s gonna be gone.”

Mick looked like he was about to cry. “Myron, I’m exhausted. We don’t even have the Locating Card anymore. How are we supposed to find her?”

Myron kicked him. “That’s exactly why we need to move faster. Otherwise, if Leeanne gets too far away, we’ll never find her.”

Derick stood up. “Alright, let’s go. Once we find Leeanne, I can crush her with just one finger.”

Myron nodded. “Exactly. Once we find her, we win.”

The three of them got up and kept searching.

Meanwhile, Leeanne hopped off the rock. She dug a deep trench all around it, then carefully placed Spike Traps inside one by one. After that, she laid dead branches on top and gently covered everything with turf.

From the outside, it looked just like a patch of wild grass.

She glanced around, then pulled out her soft whip and chopped the pine branches into a messy heap. The branches fell around the rock, perfectly disguising the trap.

After doing all that, Leeanne took a walk around the area to familiarize herself with the terrain.

As she walked, her toe suddenly throbbed with pain. She looked down and saw it was a patch of odd wild grass.

The wild grass and vines had a peculiar shape, with small, thorn–like protrusions resembling caltrops, each about the size of 1 fingertip, growing along the vines.

One of those pods had just pierced right through her shoe.

Luckily, it only caught her toe.

Leeanne quickly moved her foot away, then bent down to pick up the caltrop, examining and squeezing it between her ingers.

The caltrop was so hard that she couldn’t break it open with her bare hands.

Leeanne pulled out her dagger and chopped the caltrop open with it.

Is this an iron caltrop? Leeanne wondered, an idea popping into her head. She used her dagger to hack off several iron caltrops, then dug up their roots with her iron shovel and tossed them into her backpack.

She brought a few iron caltrops back with her.

After sorting out the iron caltrops, Leeanne hopped up onto the pine tree.

With all the branches and leaves gone, she perched at the very top, binoculars in hand, and could see far off things

Little Blue flew back. “Leeanne, Leeanne, those three are on their way here”

‘Myron’s here. Leeanne thought.

She then checked over hier gear again.

Chapter 80

‘Wait, someone’s coming, and he’s quite overweight, Leeanne mused.

From a distance, the guy raised his hands. “It’s me, Leeanne. I’m Emmett. I’m staying out of your fight.”

“What are you doing here?” Leeanne leveled her spear at Emmett, frowning.

“I came to watch the fun… No, I mean, I came to warn you. Myron and the others are coming. You need to run,” Emmett said urgently.

In the Local Chat, Emmett was totally stoked. “Whoa, first I ran into Myron, and now I see Leeanne. Man, my luck’s off the charts today.”

Rodger said, “Emmett, don’t mess things up!”

Emmett shot back, “How am I messing things up? I’m just passing by and enjoying the show. Myron’s right behind me. They’re coming, and this fight’s about to kick off.”

Rodger quickly sent Leeanne a private message. [Leeanne, don’t kill Emmett. He’s on our side.]

Leeanne glanced at the private message and motioned with her spear at Emmett. “Just stand over there!”

“Got it!” Emmett spun his chubby body and ducked behind a big rock nearby. Excited, he said in the Local Chat, “Myron’s here!”

Someone immediately asked, “Emmett, are you at the battlefield?”

Emmett, feeling proud, replied, “Yep! Myron and Leeanne are about to face off. Let me give you a live update on the battle.”

The people in the Local Chat were just eager to watch the excitement and didn’t mind the commotion, responding enthusiastically one after another.

“Seriously, stream it! I wanna see how Leeanne handles Myron and Mick.”

“Yeah! Me too!”

“Emmett, step it up! Make the livestream lively, alright? If you keep us hooked, we’ll tip you.”

Emmett was thrilled. “Alright!”

Finally, someone relatively rational spoke up, “Hey, aren’t you guys being way too optimistic? Leeanne, a girl, is up against three grown men, each of them highly skilled in combat, and one of them is even a murderer.

“She stands absolutely no chance, okay? And you’re still egging her on!”

“I think Leeanne’s in danger, too. Man, I’m really worried about her,” someone else chimed in.

Myron and Mick didn’t have time to check the chat. They were totally wiped out.
