Chapter 113
Under the pressure of that crushing grip, Nadia’ struggled helplessly like a frightened chicken, staring at the woman in front of
her in terror.
Hayley was a reasonable person. Most of the time, her reasoning just happened to come in the form of her fists.
Especially in the apocalypse, there was no need for words when actions could do the trick.
At that moment, the soldiers finally reacted.
Click, click!
Nearly half of them drew their guns and activated their gifts, all aiming at Hayley in an instant.
Leonard and the dogs on the outer edge immediately responded as well, rushing forward to form a protective barrier around Hayley.
The tension in the air skyrocketed. Both sides were seconds away from breaking into a fight.
Derek and the others froze, completely stunned. They had no idea who they were supposed to side with.
“Everyone, stand down!”
Liam’s voice cut through the chaos. He glanced at Hayley, then at the gasping Nadia, who was already on the verge of passing
out.
“Let her go. You can come with us.”
Hayley paused, thinking for a second.
Then, Nadia hit the floor hard with a thud.
“Captain Barnes!”
“Captain Barnes!”
Her teammates immediately rushed to her.
Nadia coughed violently, trying to suck in air. Her vision was still black, and her heart felt like it was pounding up through her throat. She could practically hear the blood rushing in her ears.
Her body trembled uncontrollably, drenched in cold sweat. There was a clear red handprint around her pale neck. It took her a good 30 seconds to regain her senses.

Just now, she had almost died.
That woman had actually tried to kill her…!
“You okay?”
Nadia heard Liam’s voice. Anger surged up immediately, and she wanted to order him to shoot Hayley.
But when her eyes met that calm, faintly smiling face, her whole body started shaking again. She was overwhelmed by pure fear.
“I-I’m fine,” she said weakly, her voice trembling.
It was impossible for her not to be afraid of the person who almost strangled her to death.
After that, Nadia went completely quiet.
“Good. We’re moving out,” Liam said coldly
There wasn’t even a hint of sympathy in his tone, nor any sign he planned to stand up for her. 1

Nadia sat on the ground awhile longer before quietly getting up to follow behind him. She didn’t even try to give orders
anymore.
Seeing how Nadia had instantly turned from a fierce tigress into an obedient puppy, Derek and the others who knew Hayley exchanged looks and sighed together.
Another poor soul who had just learned the hard way what it meant to cross Hayley.
No one who messed with Hayley ever came out ahead. She wasn’t some pushover. She was a wild, lawless force of nature.
Watching Nadia, who was barely hanging on, Hayley felt pretty satisfied.
