Right now, zumbies roamed everywhere, turning entire regions into abandoned zones. There wasn’t a soul left to contest her.
At least for them, the thought of taking territory never even crossed their minds.
It wasn’t just them. No one else, no other faction, had the slightest idea of doing such a thing.
What they didn’t know was that the lands Hayley claimed would generate enormous economic benefits and strengthen her base kingdom in the future.
No matter the time, land remained the core of all development.
Especially during the later stages of base development, when internal resources ran low and expansion became necessary. Only then would many realize that all claimable land had already been taken by Hayley.
“Goodbye, Boss!”
“Hope we’ll meet again!”
“Bye, Ms. Reid!”
After securing the research facility, the sun began to set. Hayley and Liam’s squad split up, each returning to their own base.
Before leaving, Liam paused his vehicle and asked Hayley, “Do you have a satellite phone?”
“No.”
“What about a radio?”
“Yes.”
With the entire city’s power out, the terrestrial signal towers were useless. The only communication signals left were from
satellites.
However, satellite signals couldn’t last long. Without maintenance, some would fail in a few years.
