Chapter 139
Soon, they got to the supermarket in the development zone.
There were a lot of zombies near the entrance, most of them dressed in what looked like normal residents’ clothes, while quite a few were heavily armored in thick layers
Clearly, these were the locals who had once occupied this area after the apocalypse hit, but it hadn’t ended well.
It would be considered lucky if one out of ten people made it out.
As soon as Hayley’s vehicle arrived, the wandering zombies swarmed toward them.
Hayley waved at Leonard. He pressed a button, and a turret rose from the armored vehicle, blasting the zombies below with a violent, precise strike.
Griffin watched the scene from inside the vehicle, seeing the zombies reduced to ashes in moments.
“Wow! Captain Gorgeous, your car is insane! Where’d you get it?”
“Not now. Go check things out outside. Most of the zombies had been cleared,” Hayley said.
Griffin raised an eyebrow. “Alright, then.”
He stepped out empty-handed to scout the area.
The remaining scattered zombies ignored him entirely. He walked straight to the supermarket entrance, then waved at Hayley to signal it was clear inside.
Leonard saw this and whispered, “Boss, who exactly is he?”
“He has a special body. Zombies don’t bite him.”
Leonard’s eyes lit up. Looking at Griffin differently, he understood why Hayley wanted him on the team. This was definitely a
rare talent.
But Leonard also felt wary. This guy didn’t seem trustworthy, and he definitely didn’t appear to have good intentions.
“Let’s move,” Hayley said.
“Got it.”
Leonard grabbed his weapon and led the dogs out.
The dogs worked in small groups and took down the few remaining zombies, while Leonard finished oft the rest.
Hayley walked through the cleared path as if it were deserted, making her way to the supermarket door
She stopped at the entrance and looked inside.
It was pitch black.
“How’s it looking?”
“The door’s locked, but…” Griffin grinned and pulled out a blank white card. “I can get it open “1
He crouched by the door, fiddling with the lock, and in no time, the heavy doors clicked open right in front of Hayley
“Am I useful or what?” Griffin asked proudly, grinning at her.
“Good job. Go check inside.”
Hayley shoved him in with a kick.

Chapter 130
She noticed something about this guy: his loyalty was stubbornly low and hard to raise, but it also didn’t drop.
