Cher
Chapter 149
Working with multiple bases meant Hayley wouldn’t get much out of it, but it was pure profit, so there was no reason not to go.
After all, she had no clue where the national grain reserves were located.
“Dear Hayz, tell dear Liam I’m in!”
Hayz blinked and sent the reply to the radio on the other end.
A moment later, a man’s voice came through the speaker. “Got it. We’ll send someone to pick you up, dear Hayz and Ms. Reid.”
Hayley stared at the screen.
“How did you reply to Liam?”
“I didn’t reply. This is a simultaneous voice relay. They can hear you directly!” Hayz’s electronic eyes sparkled with pride.
Hayley just stared.
Soon after, Hayz alerted her that a military pickup was arriving in her territory.
Through the drone feed, Hayley saw a familiar license plate. Liam’s people were fast. Ten minutes later, the pickup parked outside Hayley’s shelter.
They clearly knew the place well.
Stepping out was none other than Derek.
“Boss! I’m here!”
“Woof, woof, woof!”
“Ace, Spade, Heart, Joker, Summer! It’s been a while!” Derek laughed as he greeted the excited dogs that ran up to him.
Leonard, who was harvesting supplies in the field, heard the commotion and came over.
“Leonard!” 1
“Derek! What are you doing here?”
“I’m here to pick you up!” Derek said excitedly. “We get to go on a mission together again!”
Leonard looked confused.
At that moment, Hayley emerged from the shelter.
“Pack up. We’re going with them!”
Half an hour later, everything was ready.
This time, Hayley didn’t bring her dogs. All the dogs stayed home to guard the shelter.
The trip was long. With so many small teams moving together, Hayley wouldn’t have been able to manage the dogs’ tood and care anyway. Bringing too many supplies in the car would draw attention, so Hayley decided to let Hayz take care of them at home. The dogs staying behind was the easiest solution.
Plus, Hayley was just tagging along this time. She didn’t need to go all-out. She would just float along, grab some supplies, and come back. No dogs needed.
She was even borrowing the vehicle from Liam.
She got a free car and free fuel to use, all thanks to her good neighbor, Liam.

Of course, she still packed a little food for herself.
