Chapter 254
Coming down from the mountains, the endless plains below were divided into ten massive farms. Every inch of land was ur cultivation, spanning thousands upon thousands of acres.
Thousands of acres.
Milo was stunned.
Liam was stunned, too.
What shocked them even more was how few people were actually inside Hayley’s base.
All of that land was being farmed by machines alone.
No way.
Other bases had barely restarted farming at all, yet Hayley had gone fully automated.
Near the fields stood row after row of black high-tech greenhouses. Under the dark panels, there were all kinds of fresh vegetables, fruits, and grain.
The winter cold hadn’t affected anything at all.
When they finally stepped out of the vehicle, Milo and Liam heard something they hadn’t heard in ages: machines at work. Warm, mouthwatering smells drifted out of a nearby house.
A few female residents were outside setting down huge tubs of dried foods, and beside them were entire boxes of instant noodles.
Milo and Liam were stunned all over again.
Damn. Hayley’s base had already entered industrial production!
While the other bases were still struggling just to farm, she had already leapt straight into the industrial age.
It was no longer a matter of all the outside bases combined. They still couldn’t compare to her base even ten times over.
This hit Liam the hardest.
He had known Hayley for so long, yet he had never known what her base really looked like.
She only ever told him she had built one. She had been absurdly low-key about it, never once mentio ung it was anything like this.
She had a base this powerful, yet she had never revealed a single detail to him.
She never bragged on the radio, either.
Thus, everyone thought Haylight Base was small and weak.
Even Liam never imagined it was actually a mega base like this!
Before, he had only thought Hayley herself was impressive Now, he finally realized het base was on a whole different level.
Hayley wasn’t just strong. She was unreal
Liam was completely stunned
“Liam, you said she was strong, but that doesn’t even begin to cover it. This isn’t just strong, it’s ridiculous She’s unbelievable,
“Milo said.
Liam fell silent
“Hey, you guys finally made it!” A bright voice talled from the fields.
Hayley hopped up from between the rows of crops.
She looked at the two of them and grinned.
“Welcome to Haylight Base. It’s nothing fancy, so don’t mind the lack of hospitality.”
Both of them stared at her in silence.
Nothing fancy?
If this was ‘nothing fancy’, then what were they supposed to be?
Hayley took them on a casual tour. Overhead, drones circled every so often.
Milo recognized them instantly. “Recon-strike drones?”
