Chapter 258
Before anyone else could answer, a voice rang dut.
“Wait… Are you Scarlett?”
The only middle-aged woman among the group looked at Scarlett with obvious excitement.
Scarlett froze and looked at her carefully. “Ms. Fox?
“That’s right!” Wilona Fox replied happily.
Scarlett immediately explained to Hayley, “She’s my old manager, Wilona Fox.”
“So you know each other. That’s great,” a middle-aged man in the group said.
He shot Wilona a look, then motioned for the other men to leave with him. A flash of cold calculation passed through his eyes
Wilona quickly walked over with a bright smile and pulled both of them to sit down.
“I never thought I’d run into you here, Scarlett. You did such a good job before, and I really hated to let you go. After the apocalypse started, I even worried about you. Where are you staying now? How did you end up here? What about your family?”
Scarlett listened to the stream of questions and instinctively looked at Hayley without saying a word.
Hayley finally spoke. “Wilona, right?”
“Yes. And you are? I just saw you take on those zombies. You’re amazing, taking down those zombies with your saber, killing a few with one swing. Where’d you learn that?”
Instead of feeling flattered, Hayley immediately caught something else. Wilona had been observing them for a while now.
Casually, Hayley swept her eyes around the second floor.
It looked like a lounge area. In front of them was a sliding door that opened to a long hallway packed with room doors.
On the other side was an open garden on the first floor.
There were clear signs of planting back there, but the heavy snowfall had destroyed everything.
These people were short on supplies.
Hayley looked at the men stationed by the glass door, and at Wilona, who kept asking about them without revealing anything about herself.

Hayley smiled faintly “It’s not me. It’s the blade. With a knife like this, anyone could fight just as effectively
She unhooked the saber from her back.
The moment Wilona saw her set it down, her eyes lit up “Wow, that’s such a time weapon! Can I take a look
“Sure.” Hayley slid the blade across the table toward her
Scarlett’s eyes almost popped out of her head she had never seen Hayley being this approachable
Hayley actually let someone else touch her weapon!
With her temper, even getting too close to her on a normal day was risky. There was always supposed to be a safety distance, or a buffer zone
Without a buffer zone, Hayley couldn’t survive No, wait Without a safety did nice Hayley was dangerous to everyone
In any case, Scarlett had no idea what Hayley was doing right now

Seeing Hayley slide the blade over, Wilona tried to hide the excitement in her eyes. Even so, it was impossible to miss. She grabbed the saber right away.
“I really have to take a closer look at this. By the way, do you have any other companions?”
“Nope. Just the two of us. We wandered in by accident.”
“Don’t worry. We’re not trying to hurt you. I just meant that if you did have people with you, we’d help bring them here, too,” Wiiona said warmly, dropping the excited tone from earlier.
