Chapter 260
“Are you actually scared poisoned you?” Wiloha snapped when Scarlett refused to drink. “I treated you like family, took you and even had people cook for you. How could you be this rude?”
At that moment, Hayley reached over and took Scarlett’s cup. While they had been talking, she had quietly “finished” her ov coffee.
Now, she lifted Scarlett’s cup and tilted it toward Scarlett’s mouth.
“You’re just too young. Do you really think your old boss would hurt you? If she wanted us dead, why would she bother savin earlier? You’ve got to learn from me and be grateful, okay, sweetheart?”
Scarlett thought the coffee was going to pour into her mouth, but her lips were just held open, and not a single drop went in.
Hayley raised her arm higher to block Scarlett’s mouth, silently pouring the entire cup into her inventory. Then, she showed empty cup to Wilona.
“She’s young and doesn’t get it. Now she does.”
When Wilona saw that, her eyes lit up at once. All the suspicion she had just shown melted away.
At first, she thought Scarlett would be the easy one to control, while the prettier girl looked troublesome.
But it turned out she was wrong.
Hayley was the dumb one, as dumb as could be!
First, she handed over her weapon, and then she told them everything. Later, she drank the coffee and even forced the caution Scarlett to drink, too.
This was luck falling straight from the sky!
Wilona figured Hayley was just someone who could swing a blade a few times. And now, she didn’t even have that blade anymore.
Drugged and helpless, what could the two of them possibly do?
“Are there really only this many people at your base?” Hayley asked Wilona casually.
Seeing that they had both “drunk” the coffee, Wilona finally spoke honestly “Actually, we’ve got more people downstairs. I’ll take you to them. Dinner should be ready, too.”
“Sounds good,” Hayley said, reaching for her saber.
Wilona snatched it away immediately. “I’ll hold on to this for you. It’s safe here. You won’t need it.”
Hayley lifted her brows obediently. “If you say so.”
She would make sure to wipe them all out in one go.
Wilona led the “cooperative” Hayley and Scarlett downstairs
Once they passed through the glass door, Hayley noticed how tightly sealed the place was the hallways were narrow, with several locked doors along the way Every room was shut right, and the faint smell of blood hung in the air.
Wilona didn’t take them down any normal staircase Instead, she opened one of the rooms
Inside, the floor tiles had been smashed open to reveal a hidden staircase leading downward. If someone went by the main stairs, they would never find this passage
Seeing this, Hayley felt even more certain she had played her batt perfectly

There were definitely bigger fish hiding below. If she had attacked earlier, these people would have run, and God knows what kinds of traps or tunnels she would have walked into.
She followed Wilona down the ladder to the lower level.
There, she saw long rows of dried meat hanging out in the hallway.
“You’ve got a lot of meat here,” Hayley said.
A slow smile spread across Wilona’s kindly face. “This is Timberfall. We’re famous for smoked meats. All of this is old- fashioned jerky, made the traditional way.”
“I see.” Hayley pulled her eyes away from the rows of meat.
