Chapter 283
“Call Lizzie back!”
“If worst comes to worst, we can tie her up and keep an eye on her. If nothing’s wrong, then nothing’s wrong. She can’t survive on her own out there!”
“Let’s wait a bit and find Lizzie, then leave together!”
Hayley heard this brainless talk and didn’t feel like saying a single word. She hoisted Griffin over her shoulder and strode
forward.
When the teenagers saw Hayley leave, they hesitated for half a second, then all ran after her.
Bradley led the way up front.
The others stuck close behind Hayley. As she walked, she checked every vehicle/she passed, stopping briefly to look inside.
Unfortunately, not a single car was usable.
Standing water covered the underground parking garage, and almost every vehicle had damaged tires.
Bradley noticed what Hayley was thinking. “Hey, you’re looking for a car that can still run, right?”.
Hayley glanced at him and nodded.
“Let’s go to the ground level. There’s a dealership up there. Tons of brand new cars!”
Hayley gave him an approving look. “Not bad, kid. Lead the way.”
Getting praised by Hayley made Bradley grin inside. He led her back along the right wall. After walking a little over 200 yards, a fire exit door appeared ahead.
At that moment, a trembling figure appeared in the darkness in front of them.
The flashlight beam swept over, and everyone saw Lizzie leaning against the exit door.
“Lizzie?”
“Lizzie?”
She clutched the door handle, her whole body shaking violently. She looked like she was in terrible pain.
“W-We said we’d be friends forever. Even if…we went to college, we’d go to the same one. I feel so awtyl
Right then, a massive noise rose from behind them.
In the silent underground garage, from the direction beneath the pharmacy Hayley had lett, countless zombies could be heard sprinting closer.
“Raarh!”
