The Endgame Chronicles (by Hugh White) novel Chapter 316

Chapter 316

Leonard and Thomas were anxiously waiting in the vehicle when they suddenly saw Hayley, who had been running at the very front, vanish into thin air.

The next second, she reappeared about 20 feet ahead.

Then the next second, the distance closed by another 20 feet.

In the blink of an eye, she was rushing straight toward ther.

Everyone froze in shock.

“How many gifts does she even have?” Thomas gaped.

Leonard was just as stunned.

So far, he knew Hayley was a water-element, inventory-variant, strength-enhanced, and speed-enhanced Gifted. And now, there was teleportation on top of all that.

This was insane.

Leonard stared at Hayley as she appeared in front of them, his eyes practically glowing. Hayley was like a walking treasure vaul full of endless surprises.

She was way too strong!

In the stunned silence of the group, Hayley reached the vehicle with two people in tow and jumped aboard. The moment she wa inside, she threw a rope backward toward the others who were still running.

“Grab it!”

Milo lunged forward and caught the rope in one smooth motion/The others quickly latched onto him one after another.

Hayley gripped the other end of the rope and pulled with everything she had.

Boom!

Behind them, huge sections of the mountainside collapsed. Under the pounding rain, the landslide instantly turned into a mudslide, and a roaring wave of mud surged straight toward them.

“Drive!”

Hayley strained with both arms. The rope cut into her hands as she clenched her teeth and poured ali hedstrength into it. Laam and the others grabbed on and pulled together, hauling everyone up in one desperate heave.

The instant they were all aboard, the mudslide swallowed the path they had just run across

At that moment, every single person looked at Hayley with pure shock

Derek and the others stared at her with starry eyed admiration

No wonder she was the boss.

She was unreal!

“Captain Reid!”

“Captain Reid!”

A man in a raincoat waved frantically at them.

It was Jim.

The armored vehicle stopped in front of a field of mud and shattered rock.

“Are you all okay?” Jim shouted.

“We’re fine.” Hayley was covered head to toe in mud.

Everyone else looked no better.

Seeing this, Jim said, “The road down the mountain’s been washed out. Come rest at our old gathering spot for the night. Once the rain stops, you can leave.”

Hayley glanced at the others. After a brief discussion, they agreed.

“Alright.”

They parked the vehicle on higher, more stable ground and followed Jim on toot to the gathering spot

The moment they entered the lodge, a woman rushed out, her eyes red and her face twisted with anger
