The Endgame Chronicles (by Hugh White) novel Chapter 327

Chapter 327

A tall, skinny, bald zombie was the first to climb up. The front of its skull was caved in, and its eyes were nothing but two bottomless, blood-filled holes. Standing on the guardrail, it could only sense the approaching armored vehicle by sound and

smell

“Raarh!”

It leapt high off the railing, claws outstretched, diving straight at Hayley’s vehicle.

Leonard yanked the wheel hard.

Bam!

The zombie slammed into the bridge deck, leaving behind a zombie-shaped crater. If that had hit their vehicle, even if the armor held, it would’ve rocked them hard.

Whoosh!

The armored vehicle swerved past the crater at full speed.

But ahead of them, more and more zombies were climbing onto the bridge. They dropped like rain, thudding down again and again as they leapt from the railings.

All of them lunged straight for the vehicle.

Leonard’s driving was razor sharp. He weaved across the roadway, dodging zombies that fell like live bombs from above

Even so, avoiding those airborne attacks didn’t stop the tide of zombies climbing up from both ends of the overpass. In no time the armored vehicle was covered in a dense mass of zombies.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Under the collective pounding, even the system-grade super-armored vehicle showed faint scratches in its paint.

One zombie hung upside down from the roof, chomping noisily on the side mirror. Its bloody mouth bit down hard, leaving a deep set of teeth marks in Hayley’s mirror.

Then, the vehicle’s body shifted. Countless steel spikes shot out, piercing every zombie clinging to it.

Screech!

That zombie was pinned against the bridge railing and dragged forward, scraping along the metal

Not just that one. All the zombies on the right side were crushed flat against the railing as the vehi le surged areas

Dark red blood smeared across the entire stretch of guardrail

After charging forward more than 30 feet, the armored vehicle cut left, grinding through the sobie maxx dong the dividet

Once the zombies on both sides were shaken off, the vehicle spun in a full 400 degree drth, tinging most of the combies at the roof and hood

Only a handful remained

“Alright, let’s light it up!”

Hayley hoisted a shoulder fired launcher and fired straight into the childless stream of zombies ahead them casually fosset explosives down toward the massive horde below the bridge, like she was poking a stirred up nest

They were retreating, anyway Noise didn’t matter anymore

The louder I was, the better They would blow up as many as they could

One grenade dropped down-uped out an entirò cluster.

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

“Push through!”

Explosions filled the sky.

The armored vehicle became a living meat grinder, plowing straight through mountains of corpses and rivers of blood.

By the time Hayley’s vehicle burst off the overpass, the section of bridge behind hem, where the bombing had been heaviest, finally gave way
