The Endgame Chronicles (by Hugh White) novel Chapter 329

The guard realized that Russell was absolutely hot worth following

Forget it.

Ten minutes later, the zombie horde reached Kronlock Base.

Russell, who had just finished packing and was about to sneak off alone, was caught redhanded by the other people in the base. While he was being dragged and held back by them, the loyal guard took Sabrina and Mandy and drove off from the other side.

Half an hour later, screams echoed throughout the entire villa district.

Ironlock Base was completely wiped out.

It wasn’t the only base that fell that day.

Several small bases were attacked by roaming zombie hordes spilling out of the cities.

Most of these bases were located close to the urban core and were groundlevel settlements. Once the wandering zombies found them, none were spared.

Out of ten bases, fewer than one could withstand a full zombie tide.

The only exception was Aecraton.

Among the three cities, Aecraton was the only one where no zombies spilled outward.

That was because, over the past six months, Hayley had led Haylight League to strike first, clearing and purging the two outer districts in advance.

While zombie tides erupted across other cities, Aecraton remained untouched.

Hayley’s hard work over the past half year was finally paying off.

And this small advantage would gradually turn into an unbridgeable gap.

As conditions worsened everywhere else, Hayley’s league would only continue to improve after surviving the hardest phase.

By the time Hayley learned that many bases had fallen, three days had already passed.

At that moment, she was leading an assault on the western district of the city.

Haylight League had deployed ten squads, all committed to the hard push in the west.

From the five operation plans modeled by Alex’s entire base, they chose one and launched the attack.

Alex’s team didn’t participate in combat, but their behind the scenes support was genuinely ettective. With their technical backing, along with ample manpower and firepower, the assault on the western district went exceptionally smoothly

After securing the university zone in the west, the Haylight League followed its usual low casualty strategy, luring zombie groups in and eliminating them efficiently

After fighting alongside everyone for three days, Hayley received new information from Alex

Captain Reid, many bases around Brookville and Crestford have been hit by zombie tides these past few days. Twelve have alieady fallen. No, thirteen now.

Got it.

Hayley was not heartless. She had simply heard too many stories of bases being wiped out

In a world where the strong prey on the weak, failing to grow stronger meant inevitable elimination.

All she could do was focus on her own work, accelerating the growth of her base and league, and face the brutal zombie world with greater strength.

The remaining bases are all asking us for help,Alex continued. They say if we rescue there, they’ll join us and stay loyal.

Anyone who can make it here, I’ll take in,Hayley replied calmly. Those who can’t, they’re on their own. I’m not going to

save them.

She wasn’t some savior figure to begin with. And even if she were, she could never save a group of people who only knew how to
