Chapter 346

The mutated zombie’s gray white zombie eyes gradually turned blood-red, locked tightly onto Hayley ahead.

Just then, a fork appeared in front of Hayley. Her eyes lit up. Seeing the woman and children crawl into one branch, she didn’t hesitate and veered into the other passage.

Bang!

The mutated zombie chasing after Hayley suddenly got stuck at the junction because its other head was still chasing the womar

and the children down the opposite branch.

The two zombie heads jammed together right in the middle.

One pulled left, the other pulled right. Neither would give in. They slammed and thrashed at the blockage, completely stuck.

Hayley raised an eyebrow slightly and sped up, crawling forward even faster.

The ventilation system was a tangled maze, connecting every area on the third floor.

After crawling for a short distance, Hayley spotted the figures of the woman and children flashing past a connecting section ahead.

“Follow me!”

This time, Hayley took the lead.

She crawled toward the front passage and suddenly realized they had reached an outer edge exit.

Hayley rushed to the vent cover and looked out. Outside was the street. They were in the corner of the hospital, which had very few zombies.

Her eyes brightened. This was it!

Hayley kicked hard, smashing the stainless steel vent grate apart. Looking at the more than 30-foot drop to the ground below, she pulled out a climbing rope from her inventory.

She scanned the area, searching for a solid anchor point, but the vent walls were completely smooth.

Without hesitation, Hayley slammed her fists into the duct wall, punching out a hole.

If there wasn’t a place, she would make one.

Raw force solved the problem.

She embedded the metal anchor head at the end of the rope into the broken section of the duct wall

“Listen carefully,” Hayley said, turning to the woman and the children. “It you want to get out, you’ll still have to rely on yourselves. Hold on tight to me. If I can take you with me, I will It I can’t, I won’t stop for you. Whether you live or dhe, that’s on you.”

She didn’t care whether they fully understood, with the woman unstable and the kids so young

That was the reality.

When it came to survivors she encountered, as long as they didn’t threaten her safety, Hayley would save them if she could and take them along if possible. She was never completely cold blooded.

But her own life always came first.

The woman seemed to understand perfectly. She nodded frantically and handed both children to Hayley.

At that moment, they heard noise corning froth the ventilation ducts again. This time, the vibration was much stronger.

It felt like a lot of zombies were coming.

Seeing the children being pushed toward her, Hayley didn’t hesitate. She secured both kids to herself and had the woman cling tightly to her back.

She would slide down the rope. If they lived, they lived. If someone lost their grip or something went wrong, there was nothing

she could do.

Once all three were tied to her, Hayley grabbed the rope. At the same time, she saw zombie’s flooding through the ventilation duct like a swarm of rats.
