The Endgame Chronicles (by Hugh White) novel Chapter 347

Chapter 347

Hayley gripped the rope and kicked off the wall, dropping fast.

As she passed the second floor, she saw that the massive glass windows were packed with zombies.

There were doctors in white coats, nurses in scrubs, patients in hospital gowns, and family members in everyday clothes. She saw nothing but zombies, wall to wall.

Above her, zombies poured down like a flood.

Hayley controlled her speed, running sideways along the wall like a special ops soldier. Just as she was about to land safely, the rope in her hands suddenly jerked downward hard. With a deafening crash, most of the ventilation duct above her ripped free

from inside.

The last six feet turned into a free fall.

At that exact moment, someone rushed forward.

With people tied both in front of her and on her back, Hayley twisted sideways and slammed straight into Griffin’s arms.

Crack!

Hayley heard the sound of bones breaking.

Griffin dropped to both knees, somehow catching all of them.

“You’re back!” The woman recognized Griffin immediately and looked at him with excitement. “Dr. Corbyn, he’s here! He’s

here!”

“I know.” Hayley rolled off him with everyone in tow. “You okay?”/

“Not dead yet,” Griffin hissed, sucking in a sharp breath as he tried to move his broken arm and failed.

He broke an arm and a leg.

Thud.

Thud.

Thud!

Zombies that had fallen like rain twisted their bodies and crawled up from the ground one by one.

The surrounding horde slowly began closing in on Hayley,

“Dr. Corbyn, there are so many monsters! We have to hide, now!” The woman grabbed Hayley’s hand and tried to drag her back toward the hospital.

“You’re discharged,” Hayley snapped, shaking her hand oft. She hauled Griffin up from the ground and tied hun back onto herself.

The woman hesitated, then looked at Hayley again “You said my dad was coming to get me Where is he?”

“Your dad’s outside. Stick close to me. If you fall behind, you won’t see him again.”

With everything set, Hayley drew her blade. Her eyes sharpened like a tiger’s, killing intent surging,

She raised the blade with both hands and charged straight into the oncoming zombies, hacking as she pushed forward.

Seeing Hayley run, the woman immediately chased after her at full speed.

Hayley cut down everything in her path.

Heads rolled. Bodies piled up

The more she killed, the more intense it became. The red in her eyes deepened. Any zombie that came within her reach was dead.

Just as Hayley was about to break out of the hospital grounds, a thunderous crash exploded above her head.

She looked up.

The outer wall of the third floor had been torn open, leaving a massive gash.

The entire ventilation duct they had used was ripping free from the building.
