Chapter 368
After hearing Hayley’s words, everyone immediately changed direction and started digging hard toward
the left.
Time passed second by second.
By now, it had been a full day and night since the zombie horde began its assault.
Above the basement where Liam and the others were trapped, layers upon layers of zombies piled up.
surrounding the area completely.
The horde kept forcing its way inward, drawn by the scent of living people. With a loud metallic groan, the basement door began to warp under the pressure.
Relentless impacts hammered the metal door again and again, denting it inward with every blow.
Bang!
With the shriek of tearing metal, a zombie’s arm punched straight through the door.
“Boss!” The people guarding the entrance shouted the moment they saw it.
Liam rushed out of the tunnel immediately. When he saw the arm thrust through the door, his already cold expression grew even heavier.
He raised his palm, lightning flashing as he blasted the zombie arm into charred remains.
At the same time, high-voltage electricity surged through the metal door, electrocuting all the zombies packed against it.
The first wave of zombies was burned black on the spot.
Liam had been taking Hayley’s evolution serum for a long time. His abilities had reached level five, and the high-voltage current was extremely effective at stopping the initial assault.
For a brief moment, the door stopped shaking.
But Liam knew it wouldn’t last.
Sure enough, after only a few minutes of silence, the metal door overhead began to cave inward again with heavy thuds.
More bodies piled onto the charred zombies outside.
The assault resumed with even greater ferocity.
“Derek, stay here with your team. Everyone else, keep digging. Faster!” Liam ordered.
He left ten people behind and sent the rest back into the tunnel to dig like their lives depended on it.
Thud!

Thud!
Thud!
The metal door continued deforming under the pressure. Each time it reached a breaking point, Liam released his lightning ability to slow the advance.
But with every cycle, the delay grew shorter.
Due to metal fatigue, repeated impacts combined with electrical surges only shortened the door’s lifespan.
Finally, on the tenth use of his lightning ability, the metal door was torn apart from the outside like paper.
Boom!
A black tide of zombies surged in instantly.
Liam immediately led his people to brace the breach with everything they had.
Tables and chairs that were barely useful to begin with were smashed apart again by the rushing horde.
“Fall back!” Liam shouted.
Derek and the others dropped flat and rolled down the stairs to the lower level.
When Liam was the last to leap down, the zombies above poured in like a flood.
