Chapter 388
In just a few minutes, about 13 men stepped out from the crowd.
They were all core fighters of Evergreen Base. These people were never ones Monica could truly control. They were held in check by Danny instead.
Now that Danny had fallen out with her, there was no way they would follow Monica.
Danny looked at the men willing to stand with him and let out a cold snort.
“Split the supplies. Most of them were brought back by us. You’re not taking anything with you.”
Once he broke ties with Monica, he showed no mercy at all and started dividing up the resources.
In the beginning, all supplies had come from inside Evergreen Mall, which meant they belonged to Monica.
However, Monica’s stockpile had long been nearly exhausted. The current supplies were all scavenged by Danny and his people.
Even though there really wasn’t much left, once they were divided up, there was basically nothing for Monica’s side.
Danny glanced at the compensation Hayley had sent for Malcolm. All the instant noodles had already been cooked.
More than 100 people had eaten 50 packs of instant noodles. Even the ones spilled on the ground had been picked up and eaten.
There were still 100 pounds of rice left.
Danny grabbed it all in one sweep. This was compensation for Simon’s life. Those people didn’t deserve a single bite!
Monica watched as Danny took all their supplies. She lifted her hand slightly, then let it drop.
She decided to let it go.
However, Danny wasn’t done yet.
“Since we’re done, all of you get the hell out! This is our territory now!” Danny said coldly.
“Danny, that’s unreasonable! Everything here belongs to Ms. Fletcher,” Freddie said, standing by Monica. “Unreasonable?” Danny sneered, flames rising in his palm. “I’ll show you what reason looks like!”
“We’re leaving!” Monica cut in.
She stared at Danny for a long time. The light in her eyes slowly dimmed, then hardened into cold clarity. Without hesitation, she turned and led her people away, clean and decisive.
Danny stood where he was, the flames in his palm still burning hotter by the second.
Once Monica had completely disappeared downstairs, he flung the fire orb straight into the pile of supplies.
“Danny, what are you doing?!”
“That’s all our food!”

The people who stayed rushed to put out the fire.
Danny turned and stormed into the office, smashing everything in sight.
“Damn it. Damn it. Damn it! That woman! She’s a damn traitor! She’s never cared about me at all!”

After finishing a late meal and arranging the formation for tomorrow’s breakout, Hayley saw a large group coming down from upstairs.
Derek and the others immediately took up guard positions. When Hayley saw Monica at the front /she raised a hand and stepped forward.
“What happened?”
Five minutes later, Hayley learned about the internal split within Evergreen Base.
Danny had taken 13 men with him, 7 of whom were Gifted, and left the group.
Monica was now bringing the remaining 90–plus people, mostly with lower combat strength, to follow Hayley.
They had decided to go with her.
“Tomorrow, you’ll follow us. I’ll say this upfront. We’ll only take care of our own people. Your lives are your responsibility. This is your one and only chance,” Hayley said.
Monica nodded seriously. “I understand.”
Hayley had a fairly good impression of Monica. She was expanding her influence anyway, and bringing more people wasn’t necessarily a bad thing.
Hayley’s rule had always been simple: As long as she lived, she could allow others to live, too. She wasn’t some anti–human maniac.
The next morning, Hayley’s group got up early. She handed out a more substantial meal to everyone to boost their stamina.
Most of Monica’s supplies had been taken by Danny, leaving them with very little. After thinking it over, Monica
