The Endgame Chronicles (by Hugh White) novel Chapter 389

Chapter 389

If you need more, you can borrow from me,Hayley said to Monica as she walked over. You can pay it back after we get out.

Monica heard her words, and for a moment, her longing for Haylight League flared up again.

Hayley said that everyone in her league had food, vegetables, and meat. They really did seem incredibly strong

No need. We’ll talk after we get out,Monica said firmly, standing her ground.

Once they were out, she would see the Haylight League with her own eyes. If Hayley truly proved trustworthy, then she would join them.

They still had some supplies. They could rely on themselves and didn’t need to depend on others.

If she could manage on her own, she wouldn’t borrow from anyone.

Hayley heard Monica’s answer and looked at her with even more appreciation.

Just then, everyone heard explosions echoing from the distance.

Hayley immediately walked to the window. From there, she saw the zombie horde below begin to riot, surging toward the source of the blasts in the north.

Hayley smiled.

The support had begun.

The explosions kept coming, triggering the Brookville zombie horde that had been hungry and restless for 18 months.

From neighborhoods, streets, outside the mall, hospitals, and schools, zombies poured toward the sound. The sight of them running was overwhelming.

Monica watched the scene, the shock in her eyes growing stronger by the second.

How much power did it take to coordinate something like this, to give them support on this scale?

Hayley was truly strong. Far stronger than Monica was.

The people on the third floor were just as stunned.

Danny, look!

There are explosions to the north. They’re drawing the zombies away!

Is it the people downstairs doing this?

It has to be. Didn’t Monica say yesterday that they were breaking out today? Someone must be pulling the zombies away for them!

Danny stood by the window, watching the endless stream of running zombies.

The density gradually dropped from packed crowds to scattered stragglers as the explosions, spaced at precise intervals, continued to lure them away.

Shock flashed in his eyes as well.

The people downstairs weren’t ordinary refugees at all.

They were incredibly powerful.

Just from the steady, calculated rhythm of the explosions in the north, it was obvious that this had beer planned to keep drawing zombies away until the density in this area dropped to the lowest point.

This was a powerful team.

As Danny stared in disbelief, the zombie density below finally hit its lowest point. The streets that had once been swarming were now left with only a dozen or so zombies wandering around.

At that moment, the people on the second floor rushed out.

It was 11.30 a.m.

It was time to run! Get out of here!
