Chapter 425

“Boss! We found something!”

Thomas’s voice rang out.

When Nash heard Thomas, he looked up in that direction. But when he lowered his head again, the pair of eyes he had just seen were gone.

son team completely surrounded. The ones in front were holding old hunting rifles.

The rest carried shovels or large cleavers.

Their primitive gear made Hayley feel as if she had stepped back into a wartime era.

Most of these people were older, roughly in their forties or fifties. Their skin was darkened by years of work, their frames lean but strong. Rough knuckles and hard hats made it obvious they had once been miners in this area.

Only the man leading them was young, around 28. Beside him stood a small girl, about 14.

She stayed behind the man, her clear eyes full of caution and suspicion as she watched Hayley’s group.

“Boss, that’s her! She’s the one I saw earlier,” Nash said quickly after recognizing the little girl.

As soon as he spoke, the young man across from him immediately raised his gun and aimed it at Nash.

“What are you trying to do?”

Just then, a thunderous rumbling sound came from behind them.

A massive wave of running zombies poured out from the mountainside at their backs.

The group’s expressions instantly changed.

“Damn it! The zombies from the mountaintop got pulled down again!”
