Chapter 469
Shana took his jacket with grateful hands. “Thank you.
“It’s fine,” Gideon said. “Do you have what you need?”
Shana shook her head. “I asked the other girls in the group. None of them brought any, either.”
Gideon’s gaze shifted toward Hayley up ahead. “Try asking her.”
Fear crept across Shana’s face. Thinking about how that fierce woman had slapped Penelope away in one hit her hesitate even more. “B-But she…”
“They’re not bad people,” Gideon said firmly.
Shana took a deep breath, gathered her courage, and walked toward Hayley’s group.
At that moment, Hayley was reporting their progress to Constant on the other end. They had to wait for the re the operation to line up before moving again.
Hayley got fed up with how slow and cautious the other side was. She handed the communicator to Liam and to sit off to the side.
That was when a woman approached her.
“What do you want?” Hayley turned her head the moment Shana got close.
Shana looked at her, clearly struggling to speak. “Can I borrow…”
“What?”
“Um, the stuff women use every month,” Shana said softly, her voice dropping lower and lower. “If you don’t have it, that’s okay.”
“A pad?” Hayley said bluntly. She didn’t say it loudly, but Griffin and a few others nearby still heard it.
Shana’s face flushed bright red.
“Why are you embarrassed about that?” Hayley said casually. “Do you want pads or tampons?”
Shana’s face burned even hotter. “Pads are fine.”
Hayley reached into her bag, or rather her inventory, and handed her a pack. “Find somewhere private. I’ll wait here.”
Shana took the pads, her eyes shining as she looked at Hayley. Then, she turned and hurried toward a corner. After she left, Griffin wandered over with a crooked grin. “So, Captain Gorgeous, what do you usually use?”
Hayley looked at his face and threw a punch without a word.
Griffin dodged easily. “You missed.”
Thud!
The next second, the still smirking Griffin took a solid kick. Hayley laughed when she saw him actually get hit.
Then, a sharp scream rang out behind them. It was Shana’s voice.

The moment it sounded, Gideon, Stephen, and the others all reacted.
Gideon was the first to rush over. He arrived just as Shana stumbled out in panic.
“What happened?” he asked.
“Someone touched me!” Shana cried, pointing behind her in fear.
Everyone looked into the corner.
There was nothing there.
Hayley and her group walked over as well.
“Did you imagine it?” a man in the crowd said.
“Yeah, there’s nothing here. Who would’ve touched you?”
“We were all standing right here. No one left.”
“I’m telling the truth,” Shana said, her face pale with fear. “It was a person’s hand. I’m sure of it. H-He even patted me.”
“Where did he pat you?” one man said with a nasty grin. “Why don’t you take your clothes off and show us?”
