The Endgame Chronicles (by Hugh White) novel Chapter 478

Chapter 478

After wiping out the entire zombie-filled corridor ahead, Hayley pushed the team forward.

Level Three was easier than the two levels above.

Not only were there far fewer zombies here than on Levels One and Two, but every zone on this floor could be sealed off by doors.

Most of the zombies were concentrated in the residential and entertainment areas.

The work zone they were moving through had, in total, no more zombies than that single corridor they had just cleared.

Once everything was cleaned out, they headed straight for the eastern gate.

Two hundred thousand crystal cores. Two hundred thousand tons of food.

They were coming!

Just as Hayley was striding forward with the group, the long strip lights overhead flickered, then went out.

The entire Level Three plunged into darkness.

Power outage?

Ding!

An electronic tone echoed through Level Three.

Hayley heard the unmistakable sound of locks disengaging.

“Raarh!”

“Raarh!”

Zombies trapped in the other sections of Level Three caught the scent and were released.

Thousands of them began running through the pitch-black floor, pouring nonstop toward the only place with living people.

Hayley’s expression changed. “Run!”

Everyone instantly went back into survival sprint mode.

They charged blindly into the darkness, one after another, running for their lives.

“Kaartı!”

A zombie leapt out from a side corridor straight at Hayley

Every camera mounted above the intersecting corridors had turned toward her. In the darkness, the red indicator lights were painfully clear.

As they moved forward, those red dots shifted as well, tracking them. Every camera with a line of sight was locked

onto them.

In that instant, Hayley understood everything.

This wasn’t an accident.

This blackout was staged. Someone downstairs had set them up.

They were trying to get them killed!

Rage surged through her chest.

Bang!

She smashed the camera above her with one strike.

“Kill your way down and slaughter those damn snakes!” Hayley snapped.

Her mental energy exploded outward like a flood, instantly shattering every camera in their area.

On the other end, as Constant was watching intently, one camera shattered.

Then another.

Then, all of them.

Every monitor in front of him turned to static.

In that moment, he understood that he had been exposed.

Hayley had seen through his little trick and destroyed the surveillance.

Staring at the black screens, Constant felt a sharp jolt of unease in his chest. For the first time, he wondered if he had made a very stupid mistake. 1

Meanwhile, on Level Three, the fight had fully erupted.
