Chapter 487
The people from Ark One couldn’t help but sneer.
Served those snakes right!
Arks Two and Three teamed up to screw Ark One over.
And now, look at them. They didn’t get a single cent out of it.
Hayley had temporarily doubled the price on them, but even then, it was still a bargain.
If you asked them for help, there was no way you wouldn’t lose some skin.
This time, not only did Ark One save money, but it also made sure the other two bases earned nothing.
Ark One was absolutely thrilled.
They got what they deserved for acting like animals!
Well, well.
Bet they didn’t see that coming.
The two Arks were probably drowning in regret.
With that thought, Ark One’s reply became even warmer and friendlier.
[Of course, we’re thanking our good friends at Base K1 for their assistance. Special thanks to Lieutenant Caldwell for making this trip. The 200 thousand crystal cores and 200 thousand tons of supplies are just a small token of our appreciation. We hope to have much closer cooperation in the future.]
Ark One posted the message openly on the public channel, sounding sincere and gracious.
Not long after, a reply came in.
Base Ki wrote, [Helping each other is what we should be doing. With zombies everywhere, unity matters more than ever.]
Arks Two and Three were stunned.
Who the hell was Base K1 supposed to be? Where did it even come from?
Two hundred thousand crystal cores. Two hundred thousand tons of supplies.
It took them a long time digging through old records before they finally found anything relevant.
Base K1 was a small survival base established by the Eastern Division itself.
Back when the apocalypse first broke out, they had sent repeated distress calls asking for help. When no one responded, they built their own rescue base on the spot.
There had been quite a few groups in the same situation as Liam’s. Those bases had once flooded the public channel with pleas for help.
But as the apocalypse dragged on, some replaced leadership, some collapsed entirely.
By now, aside from the three Ark bases, no one else was sending messages anymore.

Because sending messages was pointless. No one was replying.
And now, after all this time, Base K1 was still alive. Not only alive, but snatching the prize right out from under them!
Arks Two and Three stared at the suddenly reappearing Base K1 in disbelief.
They had never imagined this twist. Here they were, scheming and fighting over scraps, only to get played by
some unknown little base.
That was two hundred thousand crystal cores. Two hundred thousand tons of supplies.
They could have gone themselves!
The more they thought about it, the sicker it made them feel. They wished they could turn back time!
The next morning, Hayley was dragged out of bed early by Liam and told to come over. As usual, he came on the little electric scooter to pick her up.
Hayley drove.
She was still wondering what could be so important this early when she arrived at Samuel’s place.
The moment she walked in, she broke into a grin.
