The Endgame Chronicles (by Hugh White) novel Chapter 541

Chapter 541

You good over here? Our side’s completely surrounded,Griffin said.

Hayley’s eyes lit up. Then hurry up and take me to the zombies!

She grabbed Griffin and dragged him back at a sprint.

When they reached the lounge where Griffin’s group had been holding out, it was already packed wall to wall with

zombies.

Perfect!

Hayley stopped holding back. Her gifts flared, and entire clusters of zombies dropped in waves

Deep inside the room, Leonard and Thomas saw her and felt their spirits surge.

They had been planning to clear their way out and go look for her. Instead, their boss had come for them first.

That thought hit them hard.

Their boss was truly the best!

No matter what, she put them first.

Earlier, when the zombie wave hit, there had been guards from the other two bases fighting alongside them. Those guards had immediately gotten orders to pull back and protect their own people.

Hayley never gave orders like that.

She had always told them the same thing. Their lives came first, always. Even if she was their boss, even if she demanded loyalty and obedienceTheir survival mattered more.

People couldn’t be compared. Bosses even less so.

Seeing her come back for them made Leonard and Thomas fight even harder.

Then they heard her shout, loud and sharp.

No one kills the zombies! Leave them for me!

Leonard froze, words failing him. Thomas stared, equally stunned.

She ordered them to pull back, stay alive, and stop stealing her kills.

Hayley moved like a storm, gifts and blade flashing as she harvested the swarm. She was fast, efficient, and ruthless.

Soon, she hit 908 zombie kills.

Ten minutes left!

As Hayley cleared the main cluster, armed guards from Level Five finally broke through from the other side.

Mr. Craig!

They had reclaimed most of the level and rushed to the surviving Ark Three manager, Woody.

Before Woody could speak, Hayley cut in.

172

+15 Banus

Where else are there a lot of zombies?

The guards hesitated, exchanging looks.

Answer her,Woody snapped. Tell our friend from Base K1.

The trash pit!they said together.

Hayley spun and took off immediately.

Ten minutes. About 100 zombies left.

No time to waste.

Watching her charge straight toward another massacre, the people from all three bases fell quiet. No one knew what to think anymore.

K1 isn’t as weak as we thought.
