The Endgame Chronicles (by Hugh White) novel Chapter 569

bie girl in a plaid uniform skirt burst out from behind a classroom door, blood smeared across its collar.

Its mouth was stretched wide enough to swallow half a face, and its braces were still chnging to its teeth. Strands of dried hair and a torn piece of scalp were tangled in the wires.

Some poor kid had gotten their brains eaten by this zombie.

The zombie lunged at Hayley, its long nails slicing through the air.

Steel flashed.

Hayley’s blade drove straight down, an inch above the girl’s brows. It went through like cutting bamboo; bone and harden skin, all of it parted clean.

She pulled the blade free, and a crystal core dropped to the floor with a soft clink. The zombie’s eyes, already dull, emptied completely before it crumpled.

Griffin stepped forward, scooped up the core, and fell back into step beside Hayley. She killed, while he collected. Their movements were smooth and efficient.

Behind them, Marvin and the students watched with wide eyes.

She’s incredible,someone whispered.

Marvin didn’t say anything, but his decision felt more solid by the second.

Then, footsteps pounded from behind.

A zombie in a basketball jersey charged down the hallway. Its chest was torn open; several ribs jutted out from a massive cav pale bone pressing against dark, shriveled flesh.

Every step stretched the dried wound, scraping exposed muscle raw against bone. Black veins crawled across its gray skin.

It came from behind, arms reaching.

Raarh! Raarh!

Before it could close the distance, a baseball bat slammed into its skull.

Crack!

The hit flipped him sideways.

Then, three more bats came down at once.

Sydney and two other girls gripped their bats, staying behind the boys

Marvin led the charge They brought the bats down again and again

Compared to Hayley’s one clean strike, this was brutal and slow. The zombie’s head foll like shme, its skin thik and its bones stubborn Each swing jared their arms

Were they even fighting the same kind of thing Hayley was? Why did it look so easy for her?

After a long struggle, the zombie finally stopped moving

Everyone stood there panting, staring at the crushed skull

Marvin crouched, digging through gore until he found the crystal core When he looked up Hayley had already cleared the entire floor and was heading downstairs

Chapter 564

Move!he called. Stay close!

They hurried after Hayley

On the fourth floor, where the sophomores were located, Hayley slowed. Something was off.
