Chapter 576

Trina stared in disbelief as the mass of black liquid froze in midair, suspended like it had slammed into glass.

What was that?

“Why are you still standing there?” Hayley snapped, one hand extended as she held the barrier in place. “Find. cover!”

Marvin snapped out of it first. He looked at Hayley like he was seeing a legend in real time.

She was holding down a Zombie King with one hand.

One freaking hand!

Hayley was unbelievable.

“Move!” he barked, herding the students like frightened birds toward the innermost bathroom stalls.

They split up and crammed inside. The second they were clear, the trapped black water detonated outward inside the invisible wall.

At the exact same moment, Hayley’s blade cut through the center.

“Raarh!”

Another arm hit the tile.

This time, instead of more liquid, black flames burst from the vice principal zombie’s body.

Marvin’s heart jumped into his throat. His eyes locked tensely onto the mass of black flames that seemed capable of burning everything.

“Careful! That fire doesn’t go out!”

Before the words fully left his mouth, a surge of water blasted from Hayley’s palm.

It drenched the zombie from head to toe. Under the relentless flood, the flames hissed and sputtered.

No fire, no matter how vicious, could survive a current like that.

Marvin’s eyes went wide.

Water element, too? And it was obviously stronger than the zombie’s!

Steam filled the room.

The vice principal zombie thrashed inside the soaking deluge, then suddenly bolted like a fish slipping from a net.

“It’s also speed…” Marvin began.

Steel flashed again.

Both of its legs were severed mid-dash.

Marvin swallowed hard.

The zombie was speed-enhanced, but so was Hayley.

And she was at a higher level.

She had reduced the zombie to nothing but a torso and rage.

Now, she moved in for the finish. She stepped forward and brought the blade down toward the other side of its neck. Her strength wasn’t just greater than the zombie’s, it dwarfed it.

Right then, Marvin understood something.

The Zombie King that they had spent years avoiding, the monster that ruled this school… With Hayley around, it wasn’t a king.

It was prey.

She wasn’t even straining. Killing it looked only slightly harder than slicing through a regular one.

Hayley was telling the truth. She had come here to look for a high-level zombie because she could.
