Chapter 606

“Leena.”

The young girl Leena had saved scrambled behind her, trembling. She couldn’t have been older than 13. She was just a kid.

Leena glanced back at her teammate. “You’re not taking her.”

The manager sneered, “We’ve got orders from above. We need 50 young girls for tomorrow’s distinguished guests. Leena, I’n already doing you a favor by not grabbing you. Move aside. Otherwise, no one’s backing will save you.”

Leena’s expression darkened as the manager stepped forward to seize the girl.

“You’re not taking her,” she said quietly. “I’ll go instead.”

The manager stopped mid-step. He looked at Leena, surprise turning into a satisfied grin.

“Well, if you’re volunteering, that works for me. Your choice. No one forced you. Come on, then.”

“Wait. I need to say something first.”

He sighed impatiently but waved a hand. “Fine. Make it quick.”

Leena helped her teammate to her feet and spoke softly but firmly. “Go back and tell everyone. Don’t stop training. Keep going I’ll find a way to send supplies.”

“Leena…”

“The Women’s Unit can’t fall apart,” she said. “Only if we stay together do we survive.”

Tears instantly welled in the girl’s eyes. “Leena, let’s leave together Let’s all run. I don’t want you going in there. You’ll die, lik

Ruth did.”

When the girl mentioned her sister, the light in Leena’s eyes dimmed for a moment. She wiped the girl’s tears away hard.

“No crying. Women’s Unit members don’t cry. No matter what happens, not one tear. We don’t show weakness. We don’t let anyone see us break. Be strong. Don’t disgrace our name.”

She turned and walked away with the manager.

The girl watched as Leena crossed into the gates of the middle zone.

“Leena! We won’t let you down!”

Leena paused briefly at the entrance. Then, she straightened her back even more and walked side without looking back.

The next day, Hayley arrived at Ark Two with Nathaniel

Unlike last time, she wore a brand new mask

A blue mask

She came under her own identity now, representing Base KT

She was no longer tagging along under Ark One’s name.

It meant Base Ki finally had standing

Not because Nathaniel granted it, but because after their rise to fame during the Ark Three incident, Base Ki had already entered the radar of all three Ark bases.

At first, they had treated Base K1 like beggars.

16 Bonus

After that battle, they started taking Hayley seriously.

This summit invitation had been issued jointly by the other two bases. Base K1 was officially invited.

If the other bases knew what Hayley’s territory actually looked like, they wouldn’t merely allow her attendance They would be competing to welcome her.

After landing, Gerard Ford, Ark Two’s new director greeted them with obvious indifference.

“This must be Base K1.”
