Chapter 629

The moment the black dots appeared, Hayley’s mind lit up with alarms.

On the radar map forming inside her head, red markers flooded in. Drones were already circling in the sky.

But the fighter jets above them were flying far higher than any drone could reach.

And their purpose was obvious.

Bombing.

“Hayley! We’ve got a problem!” Milo’s voice snapped through her earpiece. “Air raid! Over 50 fighter jets!”

Boom!

The first bombs struck the outer defensive line.

The fortress walls that had been holding back the zombie hordes exploded apart. Through the shattered defenses, waves of zombies immediately began pouring in.

Boom!

The jets crossed fully into their airspace.

More bombs dropped with terrifying precision. Their targets were the vast farmland surrounding the base.

“Everyone, take cover!” Hayley shouted.

But the crowd had just been cheering. The thunder of applause drowned out her voice.

Then, people heard the roar of jet engines screaming overhead. Seconds later, everyone looked up.

A formation of fighter jets darkened the sky like a storm cloud.

Boom!

The first wave of bombs hit.

The aircraft flew in a straight line from west to east.

One pass, and they bombed the entire base. Shockwaves rolled through the city center again and again.

Panic erupted instantly as people scrambled toward the nearest shelter. Many rushed onto the battleski at the harbor, trying to get out of the open.

Boom!

Just as they took cover, another bomb landed near the docks.

Buildings collapsed in violent clouds of dust, and the ground trembled beneath their feet.

Standing on the deck, everyone felt the ship shake as the black fighter jets roared overhead and turned back toward the horton

Then it was over

The bombing stopped.

Hayley jumped off the battleship and sprinted toward the city

“Holly!” someone shouted behind her.

That evening, the damage reports finally came in.

The three Ark bases had dropped thirty bombs in total. Fifteen struck the first defensive line, ten hit the farmland, and five

landed inside the city.

Luckily, most of the residents had been gathered at the distant harbor for the battleship launch ceremony.

Even so, the base had lost 203 people.

The worst damage was the destruction of the first defensive line. Through the massive breach, waves of zombies were already

pushing in.

Milo had led the soldiers in heavy fighting before retreating to the second defensive line. That defense still protected the main

city.

Which meant something important.

This attack had been a warning.

Soon after, a joint message arrived from the three Ark bases.

[Base K1 will surrender sovereignty immediately. All authority will transfer to the three Ark bases. Hayley will travel alone to A One Base to confess her crimes. If these conditions are met, Base Ki’will be spared. Otherwise, in three days, we will begin full- scale bombing.]

Hayley read the message.

Her face went completely blank.

Only silence remained.

Damn them!

She would wipe Ark One, Ark Two, and Ark Three off the map or die trying!

Nathaniel, Lance, the lot of them.

She would tear them apart piece by piece, no matter the cost/
