Chapter 636

This was something Hayley had already thought through.

The three Ark bases had been buik before the apocalypse by powerful nations as places meant to preserve humanity. Their infrastructure was incredibly advanced, and each base could support hundreds of thousands of people.

Places like that already had solid foundations; there was no reason to abandon them.

Inside each base were fully developed farming zones and livestock areas. The systems were already mature.

The people who stayed could produce their own food and still generate surplus.

More importantly, the three bases could become shelters for survivors across the Midwest region. Anyone struggling to survive nearby could find refuge there.

And if something ever went wrong again, Hayley would have several fallback locations scattered across the region.

After weighing everything carefully, she made her decision.

The three bases would remain.

She appointed temporary base directors for each one.

Ark One would be led by Gideon, Ark Two by Leena, and Ark Three by Max.

All three Ark bases were connected to Hayley’s Hayz system. Starting that day, everyone would use the points-based economy

People could move freely between bases. Residents from the Ark bases could relocate to Haylight League’s headquarters whenever they wanted or move back if they preferred.

The only requirement was that everyone follow the laws and agreements of Haylight League.

There was one more rule: all the supplies originally stored in the three Ark bases now belonged to Haylight League

Hayley left them a small amount of food and whatever crops hadn’t been harvested yet.

Everything else was hers.

The resources, the crystal cores, the research equipment, and the weapons, all of it was war spoils.

After organizing the leadership and systems for the three bases, Hayley prepared to leave.

Almost half of the residents decided to follow her.

Helicopters lifted off one after another, heading to the Eastern region.

At first, the people coming with her didn’t expect much. They simply trusted Hayley and chose to follow

But when they arrived at Haylight League’s headquarters, every one of them was stunned. The city still showed scars from the recent bombing, yet the people living there looked healthy and strong

Back in the Ark bases, only the elites had ever looked that well-fed

Here, it was everyone

They saw warehouses full of supplies, supermarkets that had resumed normal distribution, and even schals that haid sempenat Every resident worked together to rebuild the base as if it was their own home

The newcomers were speechies. They had never imagined a place like this still existed in the world. Even with zombies roaming outside, it felt like paradise compared to where they had come fromm.

Those old bases had been the real hell.

The new arrivals quickly filled open jobs, and work resumed across the city.

Meanwhile, the three Ark bases activated their broadcast systems for the first time since their original creation.

The mission they had been built for was finally being fulfilled.

“This is Haylight League Ark One, coordinates N42°10, E105°98′. Survivors are welcome to join us.”

“This is Haylight League Ark Two…”

“This is Haylight League Ark Three…”

Two months passed in the blink of an eye.

By June, Hayley’s main base had finally recovered.

The first defensive line had been rebuilt. The zombies that slipped through the breach had all been eliminated. The damaged parts of the city were slowly repaired.
