Chapter 637
Hayley’s radar and drone systems could monitor anything unusual within her territory.
But when it came to fast, precise surprise attacks, their defenses were still lacking.
If a small group of zombies attacked or enemies tried to come in by land, the drones could handle it easily.
But a quick strike like the bombing? There wasn’t much Hayley could do to stop it.
That problem had been bothering her.
And there was another issue: the endless zombie waves outside Brookville and Crestford.
After the last incident, Hayley had made up her mind.
Those two cities had to be taken. The zombie populations in Brookville and Crestford needed to be wiped out.
Once they were cleared, the cities could serve as natural buffer zones, protecting her base from the larger zombie tides farther
out.
Otherwise, the next emergency might allow another breach.
“Holly,” Liam said as he walked in, “there’s a military installation in Crestford that has a newly developed air defense system. A full offense and defense package. I think we really need it.”
Hayley immediately looked up. “Crestford has an air defense system? Why the hell didn’t you tell me sooner?”
“I only remembered it a couple of days ago.”
Hayley stared at him. “Then what are you waiting for? Send people to grab it!”
Liam hesitated. “There’s just one problem. I don’t actually know where the base is.”
Hayley just stared at him.
She seriously suspected Liam had come here just to get punched.
Maybe he had noticed her mood had been awful lately and decided to give her a target.
“You know military information is always classified,” Liam said quickly. “Before the apocalypse, I heard about it during a meeting at the Brookville Defense Office. But if we go back there, we should be able to find the files about that air defense system!”
Hayley slowly lowered her clenched fist.
Then, she stood up immediately
“Well, what are we waiting for? Take me there!”
Ahelicopter flew toward downtown Brookville
Even now, both Brookville and Crestford were packed with notables

Many of them had already evolved.
Some moved incredibly fast. Some possessed frightening strength. Others had strange abilities of their own.
They swarmed toward the tower
Soon, they began climbing.
The building’s glass exterior was soon covered with zombies clinging to it like ants crawling up a candy-coated stick.
“Raarh!”
“Raarh!”
“Raarh!”
They snarled and clawed upward, mouths open wide, reaching toward the noise above.
Meanwhile, the helicopter landed smoothly on the rooftop helipad.
As soon as the aircraft touched down, a squad of heavily armed soldiers jumped out first.
They moved with professional precision.
The rooftop was cleared and secured.
After confirming there were no threats nearby, one of them signaled toward the helicopter.
The cabin door opened again.
The first person to step out was a man wearing a panda-themed eye mask.
He held the top of the helicopter doorway with one hand. With the other, he waved a handheld fan, blowing air toward the person behind him.
