Chapter 686

The man’s head rolled across the floor, ending up nearly 20 feet away from his body.

To Laurel and the rest, what they saw was completely different. They thought he had been swallowed whole by the zombies

The three of them finally broke and screamed.

With twisted limbs jerking out of place, it dragged itself up, then lurched forward, rushing for the stairs. Behind it, more zombies forced their way in.

Glass shattered, one window after another.

The zombies came without hesitation, surging forward like a tide.

On the fifth floor, Hayley heard the screaming above and felt a flashy of irritation. Right now, she wanted to go back up there, shut them up, and toss them straight into the horde. 1

The floor beneath her trembled. The zombies had broken through.

Even then, she still hadn’t found the level-six zombie.

Those things were always slippery.

The last one she’d run into, only level four, already knew how to hide. This one was even worse. It stayed hidden, zelusing mi show itself.

Back on the fourth floor, things had barely settled down.

After taking a hard slap from Thomas, Laurel and the others finally calmed down. They realized what they had seen earlier han all been illusions. It wasn’t real.

Still, one of their people was dead.

No one knew what to say.

“We should take that thing down,” Felix said.

“No. We wait for the boss to come back.”

“It’s all fake!” Laurel’s voice shook, close to breaking. “That wire’s just going to hurt us!”

“Exactly! We’re leaving anyway, right? There aren’t even any zombies up here. That thing’s just in the way!”
