Chapter 711
Hayley glanced at Eric.
Ignore people like this, and they only push further. If she didn’t shut it down now, she probably wouldn’t get any sleep tonight.
She looked at Eric and smiled. “Come here.”
The smile caught him off guard.
Hayley had always been beautiful, even before everything fell apart.
Now, standing next to people worn down by hunger and exhaustion, she looked almost unreal with her flawless skin and bright eyes.
Eric had been picking at her partly to get her attention.
He had noticed her the moment she arrived at their camp, but never had the nerve to approach. Now they were in the same place, even the same room. Of course, he couldn’t help himself.
Seeing her actually respond, he walked over, trying to keep a straight face, though there was a hint of excitement underneath.
“Listen,” he said, lowering his voice, “this is our space. You’d better behave. If you do, maybe we’ll take you in. If you don’t…”
Smack!
He didn’t even finish the sentence. The slap sent him flying.
“What the hell! Why are you hitting people?” Barnaby rushed forward.
Smack!
Another one went down.
Garrick charged in right after him, eyes red.
Smack!
Three strikes, clean and fast.
Hayley slapped everyone who walked up to her.
Her strength was already at the peak of what a human body could reach. Each hit felt like getting slammed by a speeding truck. Their vision blacked out, their ears rang, and their heart pounded so loudly that it felt like it might burst through their chests
That was sheer, overwhelming force.
She could’ve killed them with a single hit if she wanted

It took them a long time to come back to themselves, the haze slowly clearing. Then they heard her voice from above, calm and lazy.
“Let me make this clear. This is my space now. If you behave, maybe I’ll look out for you. But if you don’t, that’s what you get.”
She never once climbed down from her top bunk.
After that, she took the food from Tyler’s hands, casually pulled out a can, and tossed it back to him.
“Here. You did alright.”
If you stayed on her good side, you were fine.
If you didn’t, you got slapped.
That was how she handled things.
The rest of the room went silent.
Emerson and Willow exchanged a look but said nothing. Jocelyn poked her head out when she saw her brother get hit, but after watching the others go down as well, she pulled the blanket back over herself without a word.
Those few slaps were enough. The room settled down fast.
Hayley and Winona stayed on the top bunk. No one below even dared breathe too loudly. The others kept their heads down, careful and quiet.
When Hayley or Winona needed the bathroom, everyone else stepped back without a word.
