Chapter 737
Emerson knew that he was dead meat.
There was no way out of a place like this.
Regret hit him all at once.
Why had he come here? Worse, why had he dragged his wife into this with him? Now they were both trapped, and neither of them was getting out alive.
Just as he braced for it, the zombie behind him stopped.
Not just that one. All around him, every zombie froze in place, as if they had slammed into something invisible.
Emerson stood there, stunned, staring over his shoulder.
Tyler, Barnaby, and the others were just as shaken, watching as the zombies were completely held back
Wave after wave of them surged forward, a dense tide crashing toward them.
And yet, every single one was stopped. Not a single zombie managed to break through the invisible barrier.
They followed the source of the power and looked toward the one using the gifts.
There stood Hayley, one hand raised, calm and unhurried. There was a quiet composure in her expression, the kind that made them want to drop to their knees in awe.
“How much longer?” she asked Griffin.
“It’s done.”
As Griffin’s voice fell, the sealed door clicked open.
“Move! Get inside!” Hayley snapped.
Tyler and the others snapped out of it, still staring at her as they rushed in.
Once they were all inside, the energy in Hayley’s palm shifted, spreading outward into a wide barrier of
water
Boom!
The barrier burst, blasting the surrounding zombies backward
Hayley truly was multi-Gifted!
The shock hit them just like the first time they had seen her test results
This was their leader. No doubt about it

She was the real deal.
Hayley didn’t waste a second. She stepped inside and slammed the door shut behind her, locking it. Outside, the zombies she had knocked back surged forward again.
The ones in front didn’t even have time to get up before the ones behind trampled over them, pushing ahead in a frenzy.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
They threw themselves against the reinforced glass doors.
The steel frame rattled under the impact. The entire wall of glass was covered, packed tight with bodies.
Zombies pressed their faces against it, jaws snapping, teeth grinding against the smooth surface, claws scraping nonstop.
The group had barely caught their breath after escaping death when they looked outside and saw the streets packed with zombies. Their temples throbbed as panic crept back in.
“Boss, is that door going to hold?”
The title came naturally now.
Hayley didn’t even hesitate. “Of course not.”
“Then what do we do?” Tyler asked while staring at her, along with the rest of the group.
“What else?” Hayley replied. “We keep running!”
For a second, no one knew what to say.
Hayley had been through this enough times to know better. She had seen glass lobby doors like this get
smashed in more than once.
These doors wouldn’t hold.
If there were only a few zombies, maybe. But with a horde like this, it wouldn’t take long before they broke through.
