Chapter 773
Before the apocalypse, everything here had been outrageously expensive.
Now, Griffin had taken them all. Even the expired stuff.
As Hayley ran in, she couldn’t help glancing at the items on both sides.
As Griffin’s leader, she was exactly the same as him. They were both strictly committed to the principle of frugality.
Any supplies she laid eyes on had to be taken. It didn’t matter how much she already had. Not a single thing could go to waste.
“Don’t worry. I grabbed everything edible,” Griffin said.
Hearing that, Hayley showed a hint of satisfaction. Then, her eyes landed on something by the side.
“What about those two vending machines right there?”
Griffin was at a loss for words.
Hayley dashed over at lightning speed, yanked one machine free, and took the entire thing with her.
Not a single drink that could still be consumed was getting left behind.
Griffin didn’t even know what to say anymore.
As expected of his captain. Not bad at all.
Hayley quickly stored both vending machines. Just as a few scattered zombies from the second floor began rushing down, she broke into a sprint toward the platform.
No point collecting anything from the second floor.
There wasn’t much left there, anyway.
Most of it had been fast-food restaurants.
Sure, before the apocalypse, the food there had been absurdly overpriced and barely enough to fill you up, practically worth its
weight in gold.
After four years, even the best of it had long since spoiled. It wasn’t worth the detour.
If this had been right at the start of the apocalypse, Hayley would’ve stripped the entire floor clean. Not even a single try would
be left behind.
With Griffin, she made it smoothly onto the platform.
Griffin locked the platform doors behind them.
Dozens of zombies that had rushed over were sealed outside, while Hayley quickly cleared out the scattered ones inside.
This wasn’t the place to rush, After all, they still had a long road ahead.
The more zombies she could eliminate here, the better.
That way, they wouldn’t be chased down the line.
Hayley calculated how long the glass doors could hold. After taking down the last zombie, she grabbed Grittin and sprite.
Behind them, the zombies gathered again. They pounded heavily against the glass doors, howling at what has beyond.
Just as the doors were about to reach their hit, the pounding suddenly stopped

Hayley had already run too far. They could no longer sense her.
The zombies clustered at the doors tilted their heads, twitching as they sniffed at the air outside. The scent that had driven them
into a frenzy was gone.
Gradually, they calmed down. One by one, they drifted apart, wandering the empty station with low, aimless growls.
