Chapter 779
There was a pile of drinks, too
“Pretty lucky run,” June said.
She and Fiona looked over the haul, quickly logging everything, sorting it, and packing it into their inventories, leaving out only what they would eat tonight.
Once they were nearly done, June tossed two packs of instant noodles and four chocolate bars to Hayley.
“Why are you giving them that? They didn’t do anything,” Fiona said.
June shook her head, “As long as they’re part of the team, they get a share: Doesn’t matter when they joined. Even if it’s just now, it still counts.”
Fiona didn’t argue further, though the look on her face tightened slightly..
Still, June was one of the core members of the team. Fiona let it go.
June turned to Hayley and winked. “Stick with me from now on. I’ve got you.”
Hayley didn’t know what to say. She looked at June’s bright, easy grin. The girl was interesting, to say the least.
“Alright,” Hayley said with a faint smile.
Before long, everyone regrouped by the vehicle.
June and the others started a fire, pulling out pots and utensils, cooking up a big batch of instant noodles they had just scavenged. Everyone gathered around, eating and chatting.
Once they were full, the group settled in, talking casually.
“Holly, where’s the person you’re looking for?”
“Just south of the bus terminal.”
“Fiona’s family is at north of the terminal. So, where are we heading first tomorrow?”
“You don’t have to worry about us,” Hayley said. “We’ll find our own people. You handle your own plans.”
“No way!” June turned to her. “I said I’ve got you, and I meant it. There are zombies everywhere out there. What if something happens to you?”
Hayley just smiled and said nothing.
June studied her expression, then puffed up a little.
“Listen, most of us are double-gifted. I’ve got fire and inventory. Zach has water and metal. William’s enhanced for both speed and strength. Fiona’s got wood and inventory. Spencer doesn’t have abilities, but he used to be in the military. He’s insanely good at fighting and driving. You’re super lucky you ran into us, the ace squad!”
Hayley almost laughed
“You idiot, why are you telling her all this?” Zach said, reaching over to tap June lightly on the head.
“Come on, we are an ace squad,” June said, completely unfazed. “After everything we’ve been through, who’s ever been a real match for us?”
June wasn’t naive enough to spill everything to just anyone
One, she liked Hayley on sight. Two, she had absolute confidence in their strength

Between her and Zach, their abilities covered both offense and defense. They had adapted to the apocalypse faster than most, right from the beginning.
They had water, fire, and a storage space. June’s inventory alone was large, which meant they had stocked up on a massive amount of supplies early on, whereverything first fell apart.
After that, they had pushed forward without setbacks, like they were handed the script of a perfect survival story.
June and Zach had naturally become leaders of the team, guiding everyone south toward home.
Along the way, there had been people with bad intentions in the group. They dealt with every one of them. Later, they ran into zombies. They ran into people who tried to steal their vehicle. None of them stood a chance.
Everyone on their team was double-Gifted. They had never once run into someone who could actually defeat them.
