Chapter 797
The two men died without making a single sound.
“Change into their clothes. You two are coming with me,” Scott said to Hayley and Griffin.
Hayley watched what he had done, a faint twitch pulling at her brow. Every time she saw him in action, he somehow managed to
be even more ruthless than before.
“You’ve got a scarf, right?” Scott added.
“What do you need that for?”
“You almost crushed my throat. You think I can walk out there like nothing happened?”
Hayley had no comeback.
Five minutes later, she and Griffin were dressed in Sovereign Industries uniforms. They each had a B-level employee access card, following Scott upstairs.
By then, the Sovereign Research Institute had already fallen into chaos.
Two members of the Oversight Committee had been found unconscious. Security footage was pulled immediately, and the
investigation spread fast.
It didn’t take long before they realized someone had infiltrated the facility. Tracing the movement led them straight to the third
-floor restroom.
But when they got there, it was empty.
No one alive. No bodies, either. It was as if everyone had vanished into thin air.
Scott had killed them all, and Sawyer had already stored the bodies away in his inventory.
“What’s going on here?” Scott asked as he approached, a scarf now wrapped around his neck.
It didn’t look out of place at all. It was November, after all. A scarf didn’t draw attention.
“Where’s the shipment I asked for?”
“The Sovereign Research Institute has been breached. We’re still investigating.
“How long is that going to take? I’ve got things to handle. I need to get back.”
“Then you should head out first,” the supervisor said, his expression tight. “We’ll notify you once the shipment is located.”
“Make it quick. All our production lines are waiting on that batch. Don’t hold us up.”
“Understood.”
Within Ascendant Creed, departments operated in a strict vertical hierarchy.
At the same level, the department with higher authority held the power.
The people at the Sovereign Research Institute didn’t dare detain someone from Sovereign Industries. They let Scott leave with
his three subordinates without another word.
The moment they were gone, an explosion ripped through the institute. The people still scrambling to track the missing shipment were hit with something far worse.
From the helicopter, Hayley saw Scott receive the report. His eyelid twitched slightly. Someone had planted bombs inside the Sovereign Research Institute and blown it apart

“You planted the bombs?” Scott asked, looking at her.
Hayley let out a cold laugh. “They broke their word. They promised to trade for Aunt Ruby. As long as they keep her, I won’t stop coming after them.”
Scott studied her, something unreadable flickering across his face. “She means that much to you?”
Hayley straightened, her voice steady. “If I can’t find her, or if anything happens to her, I’ll kill you.”
Scott didn’t react. His expression barely shifted. He didn’t ask anything else, just continued flying toward Sovereign Industries.
When Ascendant Creed headquarters learned that the Sovereign Research Institute had been destroyed, the upper ranks were
shaken for a moment.
They quickly figured out who was responsible.
Hayley had warned them.
This was no small incident.
Even so, Ascendant Creed didn’t make a move.
Not one.
They didn’t retaliate or contact her again. It was as if they had erased her from their minds overnight.
