The Endgame Chronicles (by Hugh White) novel Chapter 813

Chapter 813

Anyway, it all came out of District Two.

Hayley grabbed a piece, and no one paid her any attention.

After changing, she headed over to the long, connected wall. On this side, someone had carved out a rough tree stump, just enough to use as a step.

People were still climbing in and out.

Watching the person ahead of her, Hayley copied their movements and swung herself over. The moment she dropped down on the other side, the scene shifted again.

Unlike Districts One and Two, which sprawled across acres with countless factory buildings, District Three was just a single

structure.

Emerson had told her before. The ground level was where they produced the serum. Everything underground was restricted.

Right now, it was a shift change.

Hayley quickened her pace, closing in behind the person ahead as they approached the gate.

The second he swiped his access card, she slipped in right behind him, practically brushing against his back as she crossed through the door.

The guy she piggybacked off paused for a split second, sensing something off. But when he turned, all he saw was someone in an ordinary lab coat walking past.

She seemed plain and forgettable, the kind of person your eyes slid right over.

He didn’t give it another thought and kept moving.

Just like that, Hayley blended into the first floor.

Inside the pharmaceutical plant, glasswalled labs lined the space one after another. Carts rattled past her in a steady stream. Each one was stacked with syringes, neatly labeled with a yellow cross.

Serum X.

This was the core product of Sovereign Industries.

Everyone moved fast, heads down, not a second wasted.

Inside District Three, there was nothing but urgency and a dead, suffocating silence.

Through the glass labs, Hayley could see technicians mixing compounds, carefully preparing batches of serum.

However, she didn’t have time to dig into any of it. She only had 30 minutes left on her Ghost Mode. She needed to get underground as soon as possible.

Hayley quickly located the restricted area entrance.

It wasn’t hidden at all. The door was massive, clearly marked as offlimits. And yet, no one went near it.

Because it required a higherlevel access card.

Hayley hovered nearby, trying not to look like she was waiting, but every second stretched tighter.

Her time was running out.

With only five minutes left, a group approached.

At the front was someone in a lab suit, sealed from head to toe, face and age completely obscured. Behind, several others pushed carts filled with empty test tubes.

Hayley watched as the leader pulled out an access card.

Beep.

The restricted door unlocked. Behind it was an elevator, but not one that went down immediately. It was waiting to come up.

Ding!

The doors slid open.

Hayley’s eyes narrowed.

Inside stood another group in lab coats, pushing carts loaded with test tubes filled with a vivid red liquid.

Under the leader’s supervision, the two groups exchanged carts. The full ones went out, while the empty ones went in. Once the swap was complete, the leader swiped the card again.

The door shut with a beep.

Right then, a figure slipped through the narrowing elevator doors.

Outside, the leader frowned slightly, a flicker of confusion crossing their hidden expression.

For a second, it felt like someone had just gone in.
