The Endgame Chronicles (by Hugh White) novel Chapter 818

Hayley tied Dlana down to the bed.

Killing her with a single strike would’ve been way too easy, but Hayley wasn’t the kind to keep someone alive just to drag things out either.

When it came to enemies, you ended it clean. Playing mind games just tnade it harder on yourself.

People like Diana deserved a straight trip to hell.

Even so, the fire in Hayley’s chest refused to die down.

Every single day and night since Ruby had been taken, Diana had humiliated her and tortured her.

Hayley looked at Diana, now bound and helpless, and pulled out a vial of serum from her inventory. It was the same kind she had taken from the Sovereign Research Institute.

If that was what they had created, then Diana could try it for herself.

The moment Diana saw the vial, real fear finally filled her eyes.

Let’s go.

Half a minute later, Hayley carried Ruby out of the heavily secured chamber on her back.

Ding! [Two individuals verified.]

The door in front of them unlocked in sync and slid open.

Entry and exit both required two people, so no alarm was triggered

A flicker of satisfaction crossed Hayley’s mind. She almost had to thank Diana for that. Without her, getting out with someone would have raised immediate suspicion.

Ruby, however, was in bad shape. Even after taking the emergency pill and applying Valenex, she still couldn’t walk. Whatever they had done to her had drained her completely.

As Hayley carried her forward, her gaze landed on a large yellow disposal bin used for transporting dead zombies.

At the same time, inside one of the lab cells

Wally had just injected the serum Hayley had given him into a new subject. He quickly noticed that this batch was far stronger

than the last.

Frowning, he glanced at the vial in his hand.

Stamped on it was a date.

1106.

1106?

That didn’t make sense. That batch was supposed to be lost.

The realization hit him all at once.

He turned and sprinted toward the room where Ruby was being held. The moment he threw the door open, Diana, now fully turned into a zombie, lunged straight at him.

Raarh!

plana!

Meanwhile, Hayley activated her Ghost Mode ability, pushing the corpse cart as she moved quickly toward the restricted zone’s main exit. People glanced her way along the route, but after a second, their eyes slid right past her, as if she weren’t there at all.

Like she was nothing more than a ghost

She moved without obstruction, opening several cages along the way and releasing some of the zombies from their restraints.

By the time she reached the main gate, an alarm blared throughout the entire underground facility.

Alert! Alert! Enemy intrusion detected! Seal all exits! Apprehend the intruder!

The alarm snapped everyone’s attention toward her.

A large group of labcoated personnel rushed out.

Even if Hayley herself went unnoticed, Ruby on her back stood out immediately.

The cart she was pushing definitely didn’t belong at this exit. 1

Who are you?!

Hayley didn’t panic. She turned to face them, a faint smile on her lips.

Why don’t you look behind you?
