Chapter 859
“But Ascendant Creed hasn’t made a single move so far,” Liam said.
They had taken down quite a few of the Creed’s departments step by step, yet there had been no retaliation.
Now, there wasn’t even any communication coming from them.
“I don’t think they’re afraid of us,” Hayley let out a slow breath, her eyes lifting to the dark sky. “I think they just don’t see us as worth their attention.”
Liam inhaled sharply.
Not worth their attention…
Haylight League was already the strongest base in the world, and still, Ascendant Creed didn’t even take them seriously?
They stepped onto a brightly lit street. It was already December, but the streets were still lively, filled with a bustling market.
“Ms. Reid!”
A girl around ten years old spotted Hayley and ran over, beaming with excitement.
Hayley looked at her, taking a few seconds to recognize her. “Cloudia?”

“Ms. Reid.”

“We’re doing great. We’ve got meat and veggies every day!”
“We can even go out to eat. The restaurants on the street have everything!”
“Look at my new clothes, Ms. Reid! We get new outfits every season!”

Everything Hayley had promised them, she had delivered. More than that, she had exceeded it. No one could hide

their excitement.
“Ms. Reid, everyone in the league envies our base! Haylight Base is the strongest!”
“That’s because we’ve got you leading us!”
“Ms. Reid, you’re the best!”
“The best!”
Their voices overlapped, loud and full of energy.
Hayley listened, warmth spreading through her chest as a smile formed on her face. She had never really thought about what kind of person she wanted to become.
Now, it suddenly felt clear.
