Chapter 884

A surge of mist blasted forward and smothered the flames rushing out. It cooled the red-hot steel plate in an instant.

The fire on the other side never came back

Josh and the others just stared, jaws slack.

To put out flames that easily… Hayley’s gift had to be on a whole different level than anything outside.

“No wonder they call her Boss…” Colin muttered, eyes shaking as he watched her finally show what she could do.

Josh turned to him, still in disbelief.

Right then, Leonard’s voice cut in. “Boss, we’ve got it open!”

At the same time, the 12-inch-thick steel plate in front of Hayley gave a loud clang as it was torn apart. A zombie claw shot through the gap and lunged straight for her stomach.

Her prediction gift kicked in before the strike even fully formed. She flung the steel plate aside and spun around, already running. 1

“Move!”

The moment she shouted, the cramped tunnel behind her burst like a floodgate, spewing out a swarm of zombies.

Six hulking brutes surged out first, each one towering over the rest, like something dragged straight out of hell.

Their bodies were almost untouched, eerily intact, and their features made it clear they weren’t locals. They had pale skin, hollow, sunken eyes, and their faces were twisted into something far more vicious than anything human.

Strangely, they still wore winter caps and thick padded coats; nothing like Henerland military uniforms. They looked like resurrected soldiers from some long-dead war.

They opened their jaws and lunged for Hayley.

Boom!

The landmine she had planted earlier detonated.

All six of the strength-enhanced zombies at the front were blasted into the air.

With explosions tearing through the horde behind her, Hayley triggered her straight-line acceleration and shot forward like a streak of light toward the tunnel ahead.

Run!

Run!

Run…!

“Raarh!”

“Raarh!”

“Raarh, raarh, raarh!”

Thousands of zombies flooded after her.

A lot of them were speed-enhanced ones, and some even level 6.

Hayley moved fast enough to blur, but the underground distance was short. There was no room to widen the gap.

Through piles of corpses and blood, the level 6 speed-enhanced zombies kept coming, relentless, almost frenzied.

Pairs of dead eyes locked onto the prey ahead. Hooked claws reached forward, desperate to tear into living flesh.

All they wanted was to rip Hayley apart and stuff her into their empty, starving bodies.

They clung to her trail without letting up.

Only after she reached the newly dug tunnel entrance did she manage to gam a ten-foot lead.

Even then, she kept running, tossing steel plates behind her to slow them down. When she burst out of the tunnel, everyone outside was already waiting.

“Raarh, raarh, raarh!”

“Raarh!”

The pursuing zombies were finally stalled for a moment.

Leonard, Griffin, Derek, and the others, nine of them in total, all reached out at once, arms stretched over the tunnel entrance, grabbing for her from every angle.

Hayley caught Leonard’s hand with one hand and Griffin’s with the other. Derek and the rest grabbed onto her pack.
