Chapter 900

Ding! [Clark Base has lost contact.]

Ding! [West Sea Base has lost contact.]

Ding! [Tavian Base has lost contact.]

[Silver Ridge Base has lost contact.]

[Red Mesa Base has lost contact.]

[PD Base has lost contact.]

[…has lost contact.]

[…has lost contact.]

Within 24 hours, all 289 bases around the world went dark. Every single one had fallen.

The only ones left were Hayley’s Haylight League headquarters and three Ark bases.

Inside the office, the cold, mechanical announcements kept repeating, and no one spoke. Silence settl over the room.

“It’s a second outbreak,” Alex said at last. “A second wave of the zombie virus.”

He looked around at everyone, his voice steady but heavy.

“Every base except ours experienced it at the same time. This strain has reached peak infection rate an mutation speed. At this point, aside from our headquarters and the three Ark bases, every other base ha

been overrun.

“No survivors.”

The words landed like a weight.

Behind them were lives, too many to count.

No one made it out.

No one.

Hayley had escaped only because of her system, but she knew that wasn’t something she could rely on forever.

Before anyone could say anything else, another alarm cut through the base.

Milo’s voice came through her earpiece, sharp and urgent. “Hey, we’ve got a million-strong swarm outside the canyon!”

It was 9 a.m.

The moment Hayley heard that number, she moved.

A helicopter lifted off and headed straight for the outer canyon between Brookville and Crestfor

That canyon was their choke point.

The terrain there made it easy to defend and hard to breach, designed specifically to slow down an break incoming hordes.

Behind it lay a massive buffer zone.

But when Hayley arrived over the canyon, what she saw made her chest tighten.

Their solid defensive line had already collapsed under the pressure of the swarm. The horde surged forward, rolling through layer after layer of minefields.

Explosions chained across the ground, blasting waves of the infected into the air, fire lighting up the night, but they kept coming, endless and relentless.

The zombies clawed their way forward, faces twisted, bodies rotting, like something dragged straight of a nightmare. Their jaws hung open, their claws tearing through anything in reach.

There was only one instinct left in them: consume everything!

“Raarh!”

The million-strong swarm crashed forward like a flood. For the first time, Milo’s front line was breaking His weapons were already overheated, barrels glowing as he fired nonstop, pouring everything he had into the oncoming mass.

Rounds screamed out in a constant stream.

Yet, it still wasn’t enough.

There were too many.

Far too many.

Against that scale, their firepower barely registered, like a small boat swallowed by the open ocean without even leaving a ripple.

“Milo! Pull back!”

Through the chaos of gunfire and snarling, Hayley’s voice cut through.

From the helicopter above, she took one look at the situation and made the call.
