Chapter 911
Hayley genuinely couldn’t stand how cowardly Alex was.
After knowing him for so many years, she had only grown more aware of just how deeply the fear was rooted in him.
The guy valued his own life more than anything else and would never willingly put himself in danger, which honestly made his powerful domain gifts feel completely wasted.
Some people had incredible gifts on paper, but in practice, they may as well not have had powers at all.
That was exactly the case with Alex.
No one could ever expect him to go all out and throw himself into battle using his abilities.
Sometimes, Hayley even felt that if he had been born during wartime, he probably would’ve become one of those polished translators who survived the entire war in perfect comfort, far from the front lines.
At this point, she had absolutely no expectations left for him.
Sure enough, after Hayley sent Alex onto the helicopter as well, he only looked stunned for a moment before recovering. His usually cold expression didn’t show even the slightest hesitation.
“Bye, now.”
“Go.”
“You’re really not coming with us?”
Hayley let out a snort. “If I leave with you people, none of you will survive. Stop dreaming, coward.”
Alex didn’t even know how to respond to that.
Hayley waved him off impatiently before turning around and heading back toward her office.
Meanwhile, inside the helicopter, Alex stared at her retreating figure with his brows tightly furrowed. As the aircraft slowly lifted into the air and Hayley disappeared from view below, the struggle in his eyes only grew heavier.
By the time Hayley returned to her office, Liam, Milo, and the rest of the base directors were already waiting for her there.
The meeting began immediately, and the discussion over their battle plans and defensive strategy dragged on all the way into the next day.
Liam would lead a team to defend Ark Two. Several groups would split off to reinforce Ark One and Ark Three, while everyone else would stay behind with Milo to defend the main basę.
The entire base threw itself into preparation.
Traps were being installed everywhere, defensive zones reinforced around the clock, and every available resource was poured into fortifying the base.
Their objective was simple: kill zombies and protect humanity’s remaining shelters.
As for Hayley, her target was Ascendant Creed. This was the moment both sides would finally reveal their last cards.
Hayley stili had one final trump card left in her hand: a nuclear bomb.
As long as Ascendant Creed could be destroyed, the zombie tides spreading across the world would no longer be an unsolvable problem
Zombies were terrifying, but every one they killed meant one less left in existence. As long as humanity survived, there would always be a chance to turn things around.

Right now, Hayley intended to wipe Ascendant Creed out completely.
After the meeting finally ended, Hayley stayed alone in the room and smoked for nearly half the night. 2
It wasn’t until deep into the early morning that she finally left to head back and get some sleep.
The moment she stepped outside, she saw Derek standing guard by the door.
“What are you doing here?”
The second Derek saw her, his eyes lit up. Then his face immediately turned red as he hurried to his feet.
“Boss, everyone in our squad asked me to pass a message to you. We were afraid we might not get another chance to say it.”
Hayley raised a brow. “What message?”
Derek’s face turned even redder. Before Hayley could figure out what was happening, he shoved a recorder into her hands.
“Boss, just listen to it. You have to listen to it!”
The moment he finished speaking, he turned and ran like something was chasing him.
Watching his fleeing back in confusion, Hayley casually switched on the recorder. A loud voice instantly burst out from inside.
“Boss, everyone in our team, including our captain, has a crush on you!” 2
Hayley froze on the spot.
A few seconds later, she finally let out a laugh.
