The Endgame Chronicles (by Hugh White) novel Chapter 912

Chapter 912

Hayley looked up just as a helicopter streaked across the clear sky, leaving a long white trail behind it as it flew straight toward

the base.

It wasn’t Ascendant Creed’s; it belonged to Haylight League.

“Holly!”

The helicopter landed in the open field beside her. The cabin door slid open, and a woman came rushing out, with a whole pack of dogs charging after her.

“Woof, woof!”

“Woof, woof!”

Summer ran the fastest, launching himself straight into Hayley’s arms the moment she got close enough.

Ruby/hurried over right after her, while the rest of the dogs crowded around Hayley, barking nonstop in excitement.

Even Kurt’s dog had come back.

It squeezed through the packed crowd before finally throwing itself into the arms of the old man sitting quietly in a wheelchair near the edge of the formation.

Hayley stared at the people who had returned, clearly caught off guard, before her gaze finally landed on the last person stepping off the helicopter with a grim expression.

Alex.

The same Alex who usually valued his own life above everything else looked up at her and shouted loudly, “I’m back!”

For the first time in his life, Alex had chosen to return and fight beside them instead of running away. Honestly, even he thought he had gone insane.

But so what if he had?

Hayley was willing to fight this to the very end. There was no way he, a grown man, could do less than her.

He had spent his whole life backing down. This time, he wanted to stand firm at least once.

Watching him stride over, Hayley shoved the dogs and Ruby aside before walking straight up and punching him in the shoulder.

“What the hell are you doing back here? Don’t tell me you were too spineless to even handle a bunch of women and dogs!”

Alex didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Right then, the sound of helicopter blades thundered overhead again.

At the same time, Hayz’s alert rang through Hayley’s territory.

Another aircraft had entered the area.

Hayley had already adjusted Hayz’s security permissions, so the defense system didn’t immediately open fire.

A luxurious helicopter descended with precise control before landing beside the platform from earlier.

The cabin door opened. A man in a perfectly tailored suit stepped out in front of everyone.

His hair was slicked neatly back, and a pair of gold-rimmed glasses rested on his face. Behind those lenses, his eyes carried an effortless sense of superiority, along with a coldness hidden beneath the surface of his gentle appearance.

Scott had arrived.

More than 40 thousand guns were cocked at the same time and aimed directly at him

Scott, however, acted as though he didn’t even notice the countless gun barrels pointed his way. After stepping off the helicopter, he casually brushed the dust from his shoes and walked toward Hayley one step at a time.

Leonard and Thomas immediately moved in front of him, fury burning in their eyes as they blocked his path.

Scottpression instantly turned impatient the moment he saw them.

first time in his life, Leonard disobeyed her order. “Boss, don’t go. Even if the zombie horde surrounds the city, we’ll die her. I’m not letting you go alone!”

aring that, Hayley stepped forward, grabbed the barrels of both their guns, and forced them down with her own hands.

Boss!”
