Chapter 913

Thomas slowly lowered il sun. “You’d better come back ”

Hayley smiled at him.

Leonard and Thomas finally stepped aside, lowering their weapons and holding back Ruby and the dogs at the same time.

After Hayley settled everything else, her gaze landed on Griffin, who was still standing off to the side with that same lazy,

careless look on his face.

“Griffin.”

“Coming.” Griffin pushed himself upright with a grin and walked toward her. “I believe you’ll make it back. If you don’t, I’m running for it, so don’t blame me later.”

After hearing that, Hayley stared into his single eye for several seconds.

Then she said quietly, “You don’t have to wait until later. You’re free now. From this moment on, I’m giving your freedom back to you. Live well, stay alive, and don’t let anyone catch you.”

The moment she finished speaking, Hayley turned around and boarded the helicopter with Scott without giving Griffin any time

to react.

She had done it on purpose.

Completely on purpose.

Hayley had tried threatening him, humoring him, even playing nice, but none of it worked on Griffin. At this point, she didn’t expect to gain even a sliver of loyalty from him anymore.

Instead of pushing harder, she decided to let go.

At a time like this, if that rotten man had even the slightest bit of conscience left, then he ought to feel at least a little loyalty

toward her.

Just a little. That was all she needed.

Of course, if that jerk really didn’t have a conscience at all…then fine. She would let him go for good.

She didn’t want him anymore.

Griffin stood frozen in place as he watched Hayley leave.

As the helicopter lifted into the sky, the entire Haylight League watched Hayley depart before immediately heading toward the front lines, one after another.

Soon, only Griffin remained alone in the now-empty plaza. He stood there silently for a long time before suddenly laughing under his breath.

“So this is your plan? Reverse psychology?”

Griffin had always been frighteningly perceptive. Ever since childhood, he had been able to instantly sense what other people wanted from him,

Especially when they were trying to use him.

The moment someone wanted something from him, he could feel it immediately,

The first time he saw Hayley, he already knew she was interested in him. The second time they met, he became completely certain that she wanted him badly.

By the third meeting, he had stopped wanting to run.

Instead, he became curious. What exactly did she want from him?

No matter how much he thought about it, he couldn’t understand why she wanted his loyalty.

Loyalty was such a useless thing. What was she even going to do with it?

Griffin slowly looked up at the helicopter disappearing into the distance and placed a hand over his chest.

“But if it’s what you want, then I’ll give it to you. I’ll be completely loyal to you, Captain Gorgeous.” 2

At that same moment, inside the helicopter, Hayley was still silently praying for that jerk, Griffin, to finally take the bait and give her even a tiny increase in loyalty.

She didn’t need much. Just a little. Even the smallest increase would be enough for her to obtain a new gift.

Suddenly, a voice rang out inside her head.

Ding’ [Griffin’s loyalty has increased to Gold, Eternal Bond!] 2

A blinding golden light flashed across her mind.
