Chapter 914

The moment Hayley covered her eye, information about Griffin’s special trait flooded into her mind.

Half-Zombie: Passive special trak Grants complete immunity to the zombie virus. Zombies will recognize the host as one of their own and will not attack proactively

Note: The host’s right eye will only transform into a zombie eye when infected by the zombie virus.

The instant Hayley finished reading the information, excitement exploded through her.

Half-zombie.

Half-zombie!

She had gained permanent immunity to the zombie virus!

In the apocalypse, there was no stronger ability than that. She had just gained an ultimate trump card.

“Something wrong?” Scott frowned slightly as he watched her keep a hand over her right eye.

“Nothing.” Hayley slowly lowered her hand and looked up at him.

Her eyes looked exactly the same as before, yet Scott still felt like something about her had subtly changed.

He held her gaze for a long time before finally saying quietly, “You shouldn’t have come.”

“Where else was I supposed to go?” Hayley leaned back into her seat with a faint smile.

Scott didn’t answer, because he didn’t have an answer for her either.

He had already been promoted into Ascendant Creed’s upper ranks, and now that he knew the organization’s true objective, he understood one thing clearly.

There was no safe place left in the world anymore.

Even if Hayley got lucky and managed to hide underground several thousand feet below the surface with her people, they would only survive for a few months at best.

As long as humans still needed air to breathe, Ascendant Creed’s virus would eventually seep in through every possible opening.

No one would be allowed to survive.

Hayley was doomed.

All of them were.

Scott stayed silent while Hayley’s gaze drifted toward the brand-new badge pinned to his chest.

“You got promoted,” she said with a smile.

“Thanks to you.” Scott lifted the badge lightly between his fingers. “You’re the reason I kept climbing. I’m one of Ascendant Creed’s Deciders now.”

Back at Sovereign Industries, Hayley had practically wiped out all three managers for himn.

Jeff had fallen from power. Wally had been killed by Hayley herself.

And after Hayley burned Harrison’s shipment, the perfection-obsessed Harrison couldn’t handle the pressure and took his own

Beart had risen smoothly afterward, first becoming chief manager and then entering Ascendant Creed’s upper ranks.

A few days ago, Hayley had even killed Decider Three for him. Just like that, Scott stepped directly into the vacant seat and became one of the new Deciders.

Hayley looked at him with a grin. “Then you owe me dinner.”

The moment Scott heard that, the gentleness on his face slowly darkened into something heavier.

Suddenly, he got angry.

“Why did you come here?” he snapped. “Do you have any idea you’re walking straight to your death? Why did you have to provoke Ascendant Creed?!”

Hayley shot back immediately, “Wasn’t all this your doing in the first place?”

Scott instantly fell silent.
