**TITLE: Dreams Rise Again by Braxton 104**
**Chapter 104**
In a whirlwind of movement, Pearlie spun around, its fluffy tail raised high, and aimed its rear directly at Finn. With a soft yet unmistakable “pfft,” a thick stream of anal gland secretion erupted with remarkable accuracy, splattering across Finn’s face like a bizarre form of artistic expression.
Finn, who had been on the verge of boasting about his privileged lifestyle, was utterly blindsided by this unexpected “biochemical assault.” The oily, musky liquid not only coated his entire face but also managed to squirt directly into his open mouth, an unwelcome surprise that sent his stomach reeling.
A dry heave escaped Finn, the sound tearing from his throat as he stood there, momentarily paralyzed, his eyes wide with shock. Then, as if some primal instinct kicked in, he bolted to the side, retching violently as if he were trying to expel his very insides.
Pearlie’s anal gland juice was nothing short of a living chemical weapon. The stench—a grotesque combination of an intense, nose-burning musk mixed with Finn’s own cold sweat—was so overpowering that anyone daring to stand close would choke on the foul air.
Nina struggled to suppress her laughter, feigning shock as she watched the chaos unfold. “Whoa! That cigarette smell on you must’ve really freaked Pearlie out. Honestly, it’s just self-defense,” she teased, her voice dripping with playful sarcasm.
Finn’s entourage rushed over, panic etched on their faces. “Boss! Boss, are you okay?” they shouted, but as they approached, the foul odor hit them like a brick wall. They staggered backward, pinching their noses, unwilling to venture any closer.
Finn was a complete wreck—tears streamed down his cheeks, his eyes stinging so fiercely that he could barely see, and his throat burned with the acrid taste of the pungent liquid, rendering him incapable of forming coherent words. “Hurry—hurk—Get me—hurk—To the hospital!” he managed to gasp.
His lackeys were in a frenzy, shoving each other in their desperation to avoid the stench. “You drive! You take the boss to the hospital!” one shouted, panic evident in his voice.
“No way! You do it! I get carsick!” another retorted, his face contorted in disgust.
“Dude, I just washed my car yesterday!” came the next protest.
“I’ll pay for the cleaning—double!” someone else chimed in, their voice high-pitched with urgency.
As the bickering continued, Finn felt the double assault on his body and mind take its toll. His vision blurred, and before anyone could react, his eyes rolled back, and he collapsed like a sack of potatoes, knocked out cold by the overpowering stench.
Nina could no longer contain her laughter. She gently patted Pearlie’s little head, her eyes twinkling with amusement. “Good job, Pearlie! You did amazing!”
Pearlie immediately perked up, lifting its head proudly, its tail wagging so fast it became a mere blur. Inside, it felt a swell of joy.
“Yes! I finally got to help Ms. Summer! Who would’ve thought I could protect Ms. Summer myself?” Pearlie thought, swelling with pride.
It puffed out its furry little chest, even attempting to mimic a human by placing its front paws on its hips.
Suddenly, a thought seemed to strike Pearlie, and its shiny black eyes sparkled with anxiety as it turned to Nina. “Ms. Summer, did I stink you out just now?” it asked, its voice tinged with worry.
Nina couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight of Pearlie, a mix of pride and nervousness etched across its tiny face.
She reached down to scratch behind its ears affectionately. “Every little animal has its own unique scent. I’ve been a vet for so long—I’m totally used to it. Besides…”
Nina lowered her voice conspiratorially, a grin spreading across her face. “Pearlie, that’s the scent of a hero—absolutely not stinky!”
At this, Pearlie blushed, rubbing its tiny paws together shyly, its fluffy cheeks taking on a soft pink hue.
But the moment of levity was short-lived. Nina looked up and noticed that Finn’s goons had somehow encircled her, each wearing an ugly scowl. They stood in front of the door like a solid wall, determined to block any chance of her getting through.
“Heh, you really think you can muscle in on pros like us and snag a piece of our business?” one of the goons sneered, taking a drag from his cigarette and eyeing Nina with disdain.
“Yeah, these days, any random nobody thinks he’s hot stuff!” another chimed in, his voice thick with derision.
Nina regarded their antics with cool indifference, and when they finally ran out of insults, she flashed a smile that was so “caring” it almost felt mocking. “Wow, you guys have talked for ages—aren’t you exhausted? Parched, maybe?”
