Chapter 124 Make The Villains Won’t Do Evil
The keeper was holding a glass tank, and inside was Misty Fang, looking all sluggish and down.
She was the zoo’s legendary flirt, Misty Fang.
The keeper quickly explained, “Ms. Summer, Misty Fang has been listless all day, so I figured I’d let the experts have a look at her.”
Before he could finish, Misty Fang, who’d been pretending to be sick all along, suddenly shot up onto Jevon’s desk.
She raised her head and let out a soft, feeble hiss. “I’m feeling terrible. My scales are all dry, and my heart won’ t stop racing.
“Could you please give me a really thorough check-up? Pretty please?”
Afterward, she nudged her head against Jevon’s hand.
As the director of the Wildlife Rescue Center, Jevon had dealt with his fair share of fierce animals. Snakes didn’t faze him one bit.
He pushed up his freshly repaired glasses and asked Nina seriously, “Ms. Summer, did she say where it hurts?” Nina let out a helpless sigh and rubbed her forehead. “Mr. Quinn, don’t bother with her. She’s not sick. She’s just throwing herself at you. That’s all.”
Jevon nodded, looking like he was lost in thought.
Instead of brushing Misty Fang aside, he slipped on his gloves with expert precision, carefully lifted her with an examination stick, and addressed her in a soft yet very professional voice.
“On visual inspection, this albino Bamboo Viper has an elegant posture, neatly arranged scales, and vibrant coloring. She’s a very healthy specimen,” he said.
Misty Fang perked right up, wiggling her body proudly. “Did you catch that? The doctor just said I look gorgeous!”
But then Jevon’s train of thought started to go off-road. “This snake really is gorgeous. Especially the way her belly scales look. Honestly, they’d be fantastic for studying scale samples under the microscope.
“And check out her skull. It’s such a perfect anatomy reference for demonstrations.”
As he talked, he traced imaginary lines along Misty Fang’s body. “Look, if you wanted a slice from the third vertebra, this spot would be ideal.
“And right here, with the liver so close to the surface, it’d be great for a live biopsy.”
Jevon’s eyes twinkled with a gentle smile as he turned to Nina. “Ms. Summer, if you don’t mind, could you ask Misty Fang if she’d ever consider donating herself to science for reptile research after she lives out her natural life?
“That would really help us unlock the secrets behind albino snakes’ physiology.
“Of course, it’s entirely up to her.
“And either way, while she’s here with us, we’ll make sure she gets regular free health check-ups and all the nutritional support she needs, so she can always live her best life.”
Misty Fang, who’d just been soaking up the praise, got more and more tense as she listened.
But when words like “dissection,” “tissue slice,” and “biopsy” popped out, she was literally petrified.
“Hold on, Doctor! Weren’t you supposed to keep complimenting me? Why does this sound scarier and scarier?” said Misty Fang.
She instantly recoiled, zipped right back into Nina’s arms, curled herself up in a tight little ball, and didn’t dare glance at that “gentle” doctor again.
“Ms. Summer, save me! This guy’s a total pary! He’s after my body!!! said Misty Fang.

Chapter 124 Make The Villains Won’t Do Evil
Right now, all Misty Fang could think about was Jevon’s eyes, which were terrifying.
Jevon finally looked up, blinking in confusion like his scientific musing had just been interrupted. “Huh? Where’ d she go? I haven’t finished the check-up yet.”
Nina and Misty Fang’s keeper was barely holding back their laughter, shoulders shaking.
Finally, Jevon could actually keep this outrageously flirty snake in line!
The vet team had already packed up their gear.
Nina quickly stepped forward and earnestly thanked the three experts. Thank you all so much for your hard work today. You’ve been at it all afternoon without even taking a break. How about I treat everyone to a nice dinner?”
The three experts just laughed it off and declined her offer with a wave.
Ronan shook his head. “Don’t worry about it. We’ve got data to organize back at the lab.”
Loomis rubbed his shiny bald head, secretly wondering if he needed a wig. “Yeah, you’ve worked hard, too. No need to go to all that trouble.”
Jevon added gently, “It’s no trouble at all. This is what we need to do.”
Seeing they wouldn’t budge, Nina’s eyes lit up as she flashed a grin. “Alright then, hold on! I brought some homemade snacks for the animals. Let me pack you up a few to take with you!”
The three experts immediately paused, their curiosity piqued.
After a moment, Nina came back with several clear containers, each neatly packed with all sorts of delicate little treats.
“Here we have calcium-fortified whole grain bird biscuits, freeze-dried fruits and veggies with no additives, and special vitamin-packed meat bites just for the reptiles,” she explained.
Every single treat was made with meticulous care and looked even more refined than the snacks people usually eat.
The three experts were genuinely surprised. Jevon picked up a box and examined it closely, unable to hide his curiosity. “You made all these yourself? For the wild animals?”
Nina nodded, her eyes crinkling with a bright smile. “Yep! Don’t think they’re innocent. Every single one of them is a total little snack monster!
“I always mix up the flavors and make sure they’re packed with nutrition. I’ve taste-tested everything, and the little critters here go crazy for them.”
The three experts exchanged grins as they accepted the special treats, totally getting the joke.
Each of them was already plotting to take some back for the furry crew at their labs. They couldn’t wait to see how those little guys would react.
They all thanked Nina, and this time, nobody bothered to turn her down.
Right before heading out, Ronan couldn’t help asking, “Hey Nina, how did you end up with this animal communication ability?”
Nina smiled gently. She’d already thought over her answer for the past few days. “It’s something I was born with, a natural affinity.
“Since I was a kid, I always had a knack for picking up on what animals were feeling or thinking.
“Later, I paid extra attention. I’d keep track of how each animal made noises or moved, and what it usually meant. Eventually, I just developed my own way of understanding them.
