Chapter 125 Visit Sophia’s Senior
Chapter 125 Visit Sophia’s Senior
Nina’s words immediately caught the experts’ attention.
Ronan was the first to smile, his eyes crinkling with delight. “That’s a fascinating idea! Nina, we’re all looking forward to hearing your good news!”
Loomis nodded. “Nina, if you ever need equipment or a place to work, just let me know!”
His eyes sparkled, like he’d just uncovered a hidden gem.
Even Jevon, usually so reserved, couldn’t help but join in the conversation.
He lowered his voice, sounding like a worried elder. “Make sure to keep your findings under wraps, and don’t go teaching it to just anyone.
“Some folks may look squeaky clean on the outside, but who knows what they might get up to with your work behind closed doors.”
Nina giggled, her eyes sparkling as she replied, “Promise I won’t! I’m not about to turn this into some kind of seminar.
“Once I’ve got everything sorted out, I’ll package it all up for the country and let the real pros handle the vetting and nurturing.”
Nina was already daydreaming about the future. Maybe she could team up with the government, and she and Forest Isle Zoo’s furry crew could train a whole squad of animal-whispering prodigies.
The animals could even level up to become mentors themselves one day!
The government would handle all the official stuff, such as jobs, funds, and everything else.
This was literally her dream coming to life!
After finally bidding farewell to the three experts, Nina bounced on the spot, then spun around and grabbed Sophia’s arm, shaking it. “Sophia, let’s head out! We absolutely have to celebrate tonight, and it’s on me!
“Whatever you’re craving, your pick! Today’s a total game-changer for us!”

At a trending restaurant, the place was lively and packed.
Sophia was forking a slice of beef, grinning with satisfaction. “Honestly, Ms. Summer, I seriously adore Forest Isle Zoo! Landing this job is hands-down the luckiest thing that’s happened to me since graduation.”
Her pay was way better than her classmates. And she had zero overtime. The animals were insanely adorable, and she got an awesome boss.
Just as Sophia finished speaking, her phone screen lit up with a new message.
She tapped it open, and her smile vanished instantly. She completely forgot about the beef she’d been holding with her fork.
When Nina glanced up and caught Sophia zoning out. She couldn’t help but tease, “Hey, what happened?” Sophia set her fork down and turned her phone screen toward Nina, her voice dropping. “Do you remember that senior I told you about? The one who worked at Summer Veterinary Group and had to quit because of anxiety?
“She just messaged me… She said that things have actually gotten worse since she left, and she hasn’t slept more than a couple of hours in two days.”
Sophia swiped to a photo, her tone heavy. “Look, she just sent this. She said she lost a huge clump of hair while washing it. It breaks my heart just seeing it.”
In the photo, a shocking clump of hair lay by the sink, and next to it was a message from her senior: [Sophia, I really don’t think I can hold on much longer.]
Nina set down her fork, frowning. “But dir’nt she already leave Summer Veterinary Group? Wasn’t that

supposed to help? Why is she actually feeling even worse now?”
Sophia let out a worried sigh. “She told me she keeps having nightmares, getting stuck in those suffocating moments from her time at Summer Veterinary Group again and again.
“And on top of that, the old neighborhood she’s living in has gotten pretty unsafe. There was a break-in recently, and from what I heard, they still haven’t caught anyone.
“She’s already got frazzled nerves, and now it’s just making things unbearable. These days, she’s so anxious. She won’t even go outside by herself, even in broad daylight.”
Sophia hesitated for a moment, then glanced at Nina. “I really can’t just sit here worrying. I need to go check on her.”
Nina nodded without hesitation. “I’ll go with you.”
She had another idea brewing quietly in her mind.
Maybe this was her shot to sniff out that brazen thief, help Sophia’s senior feel less anxious, and let everyone in the community finally breathe easy.
The two of them demolished the meal in no time, then got ready to shop for some comfort gifts for Sophia’s
senior.
Nina wiped her mouth, then suddenly snapped her fingers. “Wait a sec, let me dial for backup. Time to get ourselves a bodyguard for a little extra security!”
It was three miles from Forest Isle Zoo, but for Nina, a little distance never slowed her down.
Sophia nodded. “Sure.”
Nina whipped out her phone and dialed. Seconds later, from the other end came a rough, unmistakably raspy,” Caw! Caw!”
Sophia blinked in confusion, totally thrown for a loop.
Nina had just dialed up Mr. Crow, who was sporting his kiddie smart wristwatch like it was some kind of secret agent gear.
“Mr. Crow, I’m headed out to see a friend tonight. Any chance you could swing by and play bodyguard for me?” Nina pleaded, her voice sugar-sweet and totally puppy-eyed.
“I’m at the square with the big pigeon statue, just 2.4 miles from the zoo. You can fly over in ten minutes tops!” said Nina.
Mr. Crow squawked back in his raspy voice, “Do you think I’m some kind of ride-hailing service? You just call, and I show up?
“We crows have standards, you know!”
Nina let out a dramatic sigh. “Oh well, forget it then. I was hoping we could nab that sneaky burglar and snag a nice bonus.”
She deliberately stretched out her words, sounding extra playful. “But since you’re too busy, I’ll just have to grab some random street sparrow to help me out.
“And I’ll enjoy the bonus all by myself!”
Mr. Crow instantly backtracked. “Wait, wait! Listen up, crows have our own code of chivalry!
