Chapter 207 Tabby King’s Discovery

Nina turned around and saw Casen standing there, leaning on his cane with a look of relief on his face.

“Well done,” Casen said, admiration clear in his voice. “No wonder you were talking tough earlier. You really had the skills to back it up.

“Kid, I underestimated you. You managed to catch the real culprit all by yourself in just three hours. That’s way better than Alex, who only knows how to throw his connections and resources around.”

Casen shot a look at his secretary, who immediately handed Nina a bank card. “Ms. Summer, 500 thousand dollars will be transferred to this card within two days.”

Nina thought, ‘Holy crap. Another big payday.’

Nina fought hard to keep her grin in check as she took the card.

Casen wiped the sweat from his forehead. “That was crazy. We almost got hit with a disaster right before the grand opening of Fletcher Foods Grand Flagship.”

His flagship store wasn’t meant for walk-in customers; it was designed for distributors from all over the country, and even

overseas.

These distributors stocked up straight from Fletcher Foods, then flipped the products through their own snack shops, supermarkets, and other retail channels.

Every customer showing up on opening day could mean millions of dollars in yearly deals.

“If the Winston family’s mess had screwed this up, the losses would have been insane,” Casen said.

Nina slipped the card into her pocket and immediately put on her most sincere face. “Mr. Fletcher, you’re a really kind person.

“If you hadn’t offered that reward so decisively, there’s no way this case would have been solved so quickly.

“You really proved with your actions that when a true boss faces trouble, their first instinct is to solve the problem, not just complain.”

Nina took the chance to offer her heartfelt congratulations. “You’re a great boss, and Fletcher Foods is destined for even greater success.

“This flagship store is just the beginning. I’m sure you’re going to reach new heights.”

Her words made Casen really happy, and his grin got even bigger. “Thank you. You’re a smart girl.”

Casen nodded to his secretary, who handed Nina a fancy business card. “Ms. Summer, if there’s anything food-related you ever need help with, just reach out to me.”

Nina and Casen exchanged business cards.

When Casen saw the titles “Expert Veterinarian” and “Animal Communicator’ on Nina’s card, his eyes lit up.

He said, “By the way, my secretary has been singing your praises nonstop. I heard you can crack cases with animals’ help, and you even healed an Akhal-Teke that the best vets had given up on.”

Casen looked even more impressed. “Whenever I have a big client, you’ll be the first person I recommend.

“Well, Kaysen’s own kids turned on him for the greater good, and they still tried to drag me into their mess. Now they got what was coming for them.”

With the big headache finally gone, Casen swaggered out of Winston Manor, cane in hand, feeling lighter than ever.

He said, “When Kaysen wakes up, I’ll visit him and laugh at him.”

Nina couldn’t help but smile as she watched Casen walk away.

Just then, Roland came over with some great news. “Mr. Winston has woken up. He’s out of danger now.”

Nina’s face lit up. “That’s wonderful.”

Nina rushed to tell Amber, who was picking at his cat food. “Amber, your human is out of danger. He’s going to be just fine.”

Amber had been so worried about Kaysen that even his favorite food couldn’t cheer him up.

However, the moment he heard the good news he shoved tea face into the bowl and started wolfing down his meal.

Successfully unlocked!

He said, “Awesome. Gotta eat up and get my stength back 201 gogad Kaysen at the hospital.”

Nina leaned over and asked softly, “Amber, once you’re done eating, could you help me track down Tabby King?”

As Nina wiped Amber’s mouth with a tissue, she smiled. “I need to bring Tabby King home, he’s clocking out for the day.”

She knew that a cat always knew where his fellow man was.

After finishing his meal, Amber helped Nina track down Tabby King. He just let out a few meows, and that was all it took.

Soon, Tabby King shot out from between the rocks like a streak of lightning and landed right at Nina’s feet.

Nina grinned and gave Tabby King a chin scratch. “Alright, let’s go. Mission accomplished. It’s time to clock out.”

Tabby King’s eyes glinted with a hint of surprise. “Did you catch the culprit already? That was quick.”

Nina grinned. “Yep. I ran into this nosy cockatoo at the pet shop. She knew all the juicy stuff.”

Tabby King cocked his head. “I nabbed the mouse hiding in Winston Manor, but it didn’t spill anything useful about the

case.”

Nina, wanting Tabby King to feel like a total hero, started showering him with praise. “No worries. We couldn’t have done any of this without you finding Amber.”

Tabby King just gave a proud flick of his chin. “But I did catch wind of something else.”

“Oh? Getting mysterious on me now, huh?” Nina teased. She rubbed his head. “So, what did you hear?”

Tabby King lowered his voice. “The oldest mouse family around here says Kaysen’s four kids are no pushovers. They’re all pretty crafty.”

Amber crouched nearby, listening to Nina and Tabby King chat. He tilted his head in confusion. “What’s a ‘pushover’?”

“You’re just a clueless, spoiled housecat, totally out of the loop,” Tabby King said, shooting him a look of pure disdain.

He continued, “The mice said Kaysen’s kids hardly ever come to see him. Whenever they do, it’s just to get something out of him, or even pull some shady stuff.”>

Nina leaned in, curious. “So, what kind of dirty tricks are Kaysen’s kids up to?”
